Here's what Legalfalcon wrote earlier: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/thank-you-legalfalcon.408185/post-6636032. Personally, I'd trust LegalfalconI have gotten ADR for military records. I am an Indonesian living and working in Singapore. There is no mandatory military service in Indonesia, but Singapore has mandatory military service. However, since I am a foreigner in Singapore, I do not need to do any military service. I feel that the officer is confused since I am working in Singapore. So, for this ADR, what documents should I provide?
1. A letter describing an exemption for military service from Indonesian police. I am not sure I can get this since there is no mandatory military service in Indonesia.
2. A letter describing an exemption for military service from Singapore police. I am not sure I can get this since I am not even a Singapore citizen.
Is it 1 or 2? or both? Should I just write an LOE for 2?
I only have PCC for Singapore since I have never lived in Indonesia continuously more than 6 months after 18 years old.
>When IRCC conducts background checks and comes up with any trace that the applicant or the members on the application has been in the military, the military history is asked. Simply reply back by stating that your spouse was exempt from the military duty and provide the details of what he was doing from age 18 to now. No need for proof.
>There is no stage a IP2, or NA etc. This is based on speculation where some pseudo intellectuals based on the changes in the MyCIC status have started predicting what is happening in the application, which is absolutely nonsense. As per the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), the law under which all immigration application are processed, provides the following stages.
The second paragraph's highlights are for people who are over obsess on these things (randomly came up), so good info.
