I don't think you get a red flag for calling them, and it might help put your mind at ease for a little. I called in June after we didn't hear anything for 2 months, I was concerned that maybe our additional documents hadn't made it through or something. It was hard to get through to a person, and when I did, they couldn't tell me much. The agent said he was able to confirm I had complied with all requests made, and that the notes on our application indicated everything was fine. And then he said that we're still within the 12 month processing window so there isn't anything to worry about. So, not overly helpful, I did feel better for calling.I was born in Germany and am PA. My husband and kids are all Canadian by birth. We check ECAS daily and also keep checking the spam folder. I asked here before if maybe I should call and I kind of thought from the answers that maybe I should not because they will tell me that the general processing time is 12 months. I don't want them to put a red flag on our application because we called them and they were annoyed by it.
