No , my medical exam was done and passed, how long after medical they will start with background check

It’s supposed to start around 120 days after they received the app, but I’m wondering why they didn’t start with April yet, I bought a ticket to go back home from Christmas and now I don’t know if I’ll be landed by then

For christmas they will finish for sure, one february applicant just got landing interview on aug 10, less then 6 months all process. For us middle of october I believe

I too had mine on August 6th. No update for me yet. For some people, it takes like 15 days for the results to update. Just keep checking back!

I just checked mine and it says “We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information”

I don’t know if that means it just started or it was like that from the beginning and I will receive an email when it actually happens

It means it’s being processed and it started! If not it would say “not applicable “

Yes, although I had to mail mine back in June due to a missing fee. The processing time is 4 months. If it's been longer, I'd call them to double check everything's good!

an OWP would have helped with your money situation as you would be able to work, applying for it now would get you to wait for 4 months at least before getting it then you can work for the remaining processing time of the application, otherwise you could wait until a decision is made and you wouldn't need one because you will be a PR, it's up to you

Correct, I didn't have the 255 to spare at the time to add to the application. Jobs here in my field all seems to require full PR anyway, so I think I will wait the few months. I think it would be throwing money away at this point.
