Normally, there was an in-person interview for every case before the pandemic. My friends who got pr before the pandemic went for the interview. Was an interview required before the pandemic for the final approval? I'm a December 2019 applicant and I contacted my MP, this is what IRCC told her:
· If the application is approved:
o the officer will send an approval letter to the applicant to advise them that they will be contacted by the local office with an appointment for the final determination interview (to grant permanent resident status).
I think this is new. Not sure if they are referring to the event where they greet you and all of that, or if it's an "elegibility" interview as a couple
When I contacted my MP, I got the same response.
"If the application is approved, the officer will send you and approval letter to you. This letter is to advise you that you will be contacted by the local office with an appointment for the final determination interview (to grant permanent resident status)."
However, other applicants whose case was sent to the Etobicoke office did not have interview before they get pr... So I'm just worried why my case is so special for them...... sigh...
By any chance, do you know what "final determination interview" look like..? Is there a possibility to get refusal after this..? I have no idea what our case's problem is so I have no idea what they are going to ask about.. so frustrating ;(
