How is it some people get the decision made in 1 day and some people have to wait a very long time, my test was on Oct24th and still nothing ... frustrating but i am sure it will come soon

My husband did his test on October 11 and still no decision made. Apparently it’s the background check. I was reading in another form where someone waited 5 months for decision made. 1 week after oath invite and 1 month after they went to the ceremony. So I think by February maybe.

We will probably never know for sure but its most probably to do with background checks. Either the people who get DM one day after test already have passed the background checks before the interview takes place or it could be possible that not everybody undergoes the same level of background check and those selected, for whatever reason, for more in depth checking take much longer.

Ultimately its very hard to say though as each and every one of our applications differ so much in terms of time frame once the application is received. Some get AOR after weeks, others take months, then its off to a whole host of different regional processing offices, that in turn have numberous agents working in them at different speeds etc. When I did my test in November, I was ofcourse an April applicant, others were from as far back as January and others were May etc. The January applicants applied 3 months or more before me for example but at that point where no further ahead at all.

For me, the biggest frustration has been the lack of transparency in the process. Thankfully, my own process has gone quite well so far but I have no idea why mine has, and that of other hasn't etc. I just wish it were possible to easily find out where we all are in our process, what has been done, what hasn't been done and if there are problems causing delays. You still might not be able to do anything about it, but at least you'd know and it might cut down on the worrying and anxiety.

Hey guys. Im also an April applicant.
Received MAY 06
AOR JUNE 11
IP JULY 24

Nothing after that. We're a family of 4. I do have a concern though and I'd really appreciate if someone could help.

I wrote my employers company name in the form. After submission i got to know that the company goes by another name on official documents. What can be done? Im really scared. Don't know what to do.

Major update for me.

Got my oath invitation today (Dec 27th) via email. The ceremony will take place on January 16th.
So all in all, it will have taken me approximately 9.5 months.

Congratulations... I consider you lucky as I'm jealous
I'm one of the many who are 'in process'

Thanks mate. The not knowing and the lack of transparency is the worst thing isn't it. I was 'In Process' from June 27th until my test and interview on November 21st and then it changed to DM the next day and suddenly the seemingly never ending waiting and anxiety was over, just like that.
