We have just found out our applications are being processed through the Vancouver office although we are in the Calgary area .
Does this mean we will have to go to Vancouver for our test ??

Hi AngusM,

Where did you see or read that information? I think it will be processed near your area. No, you will not be assigned a test office that far.

How can you tell which office your application being processed at? I initially thought mine was Scarborough due to the address that was listed on my wife's FP request but the request came from a St. Clair office email.

Congrats!! Can you also share your App sent date and Physical presence days?

app was sent April 18 , i dont remember my physical presence days , will check
I am bit worried as i have my trip booked for back home for almost 3 months starting nov 2nd, what if im not in Canada for the oath ceremony? can they reschedule it once m back?

Yes, you can send a web form inquiry and let them know your travel dates so that they do not schedule your oath ceremony in that period.

thanks, i did not expect the test invite to come this soon, gotta prepare for the test now! I have only done some quizzes online but need to make sure i cover the study guide as well

updated, did you get it today?

Yep! I got it last August 26, 2019. Technically, I submitted my application last April 11, 2018...They returned them for incomplete entry on June 28, 2018 then I mailed it the same day. Then AOR email last August 26.

My wife and I sent away our applications together meaning they would be processed at same time as i understand it.

Her application has been delayed for fingerprints, does anyone know if mine will now be held up also or does it carry on as it would ?

Thanks

What happens to my family’s applications for citizenship if there is a problem with one of our applications?
You and your family can apply for citizenship together by including your applications in one envelope. Your applications will be processed together. If one or more of the applications are missing necessary information or documents, all of the applications in the envelope will be returned.

If we receive the necessary information and documents, applicants 18 to 54 years of age when they signed their application will be invited to write the citizenship test.

After the test, you or a family member may be asked to:

If this happens, we may process the other family members’ applications separately. This process might mean that they will attend an earlier citizenship ceremony and become citizens faster than the one re-writing the test or attending the interview.

We will tell you before we process your family’s applications separately. We will also send you a form that you can use to ask us to process the applications together. If you want the applications processed together, we will pause the other family members’ applications until after the second test or interview.

If citizenship is then granted after the second test/interview, all family members will attend the same ceremony.

Hi
My wife has received a letter requesting her fingerprints.

We are currently in the U.K

Has anyone done this process from outside Canada / is it even possible ?

Thanks
To answer my own question incase anyone else finds themselves in this same predicament - yes you can go through the fingerprint process from outwith Canada.

My wife had them done at the local police station and we sent them to a company in Ottawa that digitises them and sends them on the RCMP.
