I think the requirement says that https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ction-5-1-adults-18-years-older.html#language
You attended or are currently attending a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad.

  • A degree, diploma, certificate or official transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program showing you studied in English or French, in Canada or abroad.
  • If the original document is in a different language, include:
    • a letter from the school showing that the language of instruction was in English or French along with
    • an official translation of the original document and
    • the address and contact information (phone number) of the education institution
So if your wife has completed the Bachelors in English she should be good.

What I've done is to send a the letter from the school indicating that the medium of instruction was English. (My situation is I've done IELTS at the time of PR, but my wife didn't. But she did her Bachelors and Masters in English from India).
Hopefully they should accept it !

Thanks, I am also trying to find a medium of instruction letter, but your wife did master in English that sounds better.

If anyone has experience that his/her relative got any objection regarding education and what was that objection, please update

I might as well throw my info in there.

Be interesting to see what happens as my physical presence calculator ran to 15 or so pages with over 280 border crossings due to my job as a truck driver. 16 of my arrivals in Canada by road/truck are missing from my CBSA records I obtained through ATIP, but I can't help if they didn't enter me into the system at the border or even know at the time if they have or not.

Hi All ,
I have to file my citizenship in April 12, 2018
I am Pakistan and done Master in Computer Science. I have a question, my wife completed Bachelor In Arts from Pakistan and she is a homemaker (housewife). Is Bachelor of Arts is good for citizenship English requirement or she has to do something like IELTS or CELPIP-G

My wife was in the same situation and at the end she took the CELPIP test. It's easier and only have to do listening and talk (no writing) for citizenship requirements. I would suggest your wife to do the same.

Let's suppose if you do not go with CELPIP test, do you guys think that with only Bachelor in Arts and medium of instruction in English letter is enough. or anyone know some bad experience that his/her application rejected

I've not heard of anyone having that kind of proof rejected. The only rejections I've heard about have been people who sent non-approved tests (TOEFL), or who didn't send any proof at all.

Hi Mario_AB , i am also from Pakistan, what is education status at your end, Mean your and Spouse education, so i get some update , Thanks
Hello AashNavid,

I applied as a single applicant. For language proof, i submitted a copy of my IELTS score.
For your spouse, i will suggest to delay your application a bit and let her appear in IELTS/CELPIP exam. If that is not a feasible option, you can try submitting her Bachelors degree along with a letter from educational institution, indicating that the medium of instructions/teaching was English.

I know a few people who have submitted Masters degree from Pakistan as proof of language and their application got accepted at CPC. However, i am not sure about Bachelors in Arts.

Any degree, diploma, or certificate where the medium of instruction was English is acceptable proof of language knowledge.
(They accept a high school diploma or a college certificate; a BA will do just fine)

I am doing same , submitting BA with medium of instruction English but at the safe side , i am going to register my wife for ESL classes and will submit letter that she has started her english classes as well.

Do you think , that ESL ( english as second language ) letter is good choice at this stage , which shows just she start her language classes?
