Hello All,

If you are still awaiting PPR and you know that your visa office is Montreal by either calling CIC or ordering GCMS notes. Please join us here on Montreal specific thread. Based on the data we have till now for Montreal VO seems like most of the applicants are stuck at eligibility stage.

Thank you!

You should do something similar for applications being processed at Calgary CIC ;)

Hi everyone! I have some great news. It took only 4 days from sending my passport via VFS to Moscow VO until I received passport with immigrant visa and CoPR (I'm from Saint-Petersburg tho)
Thursday, September 20th. Calgary, here I come
How u all guys doin'? Bimale, are you already in Canada? Tell me everything. I missed you all ;)

Did you get Ppr?
Hi All,

Got PPR 9th of August, was very busy.

My timeline as below:

AOR - 16 April 18
MEP/ IP1 - 24 April 18
IP2 - 2 August 18
PPR - 9 August 18
Passport sent NDVO - 9 August 18
Got passport back - 27 August 18.

Ordered GCMS notes July 10, interestingly my GCMS notes showed that file is recommended pass on 27th April, then after no background or security started till 10 July, so they just kept file on side I think for the Single applicant and re-start the process after 2.5 months.

Be patient & All the Best to Everyone!! :) :)

Hi Friends,

I have a query, while making express entry profile I mentioned destination Ontario, Toronto. I got my COPR and on it it's mentioned Toronto Destination and province Ontario.

Now, I have already booked my flight to Montreal as my cousin is there so I changed the destination for first landing, later on I go to Toronto (after some days staying in Montreal).

Can you please help me here ?? -- Is it possible to do landing at the air-port other than mentioned on COPR ?

or I have to change flight and go to Toronto only ??

Please advise.

Thanks

Still waiting for PPR even after 4 months,
AOR - 24th APRIL 2018
Medical passed - 2nd May 2018

Called CIC agent yesterday, as per them 6 months are not yet over so have patience.

Criminal check in progress
eligibility check not yet started
security check not yet started.

Technically, you cannot land in Montreal or especially Quebec becuase they have their own immigration system, there is a firm reason that you was not able to choose Quebec as destination in EE profile becuase they have their own system. Forcing to land in Quebec is okay but choose Quebec address as landing PR card address will make CBSA Officer thinks you are making Quebec ur primary address whereas your immigration profile says u are choosing Toronto. This could raise huge red flags if u tell CBSA Officer you will be residing in Quebec. They might choose to cancel your COPR. Becuase Quebec doesn’t allow express entry to choose Quebec as main residency province. There is a huge risk and I won’t sugges that. My friends wanted to go to Quebec all chose to live in Toronto until they get Pr card and go to Quebec as official Pr.

Apparently you cannot do your landing formalities in Montreal.
You can only transit Montreal for your first trip.
I suggest you to complete your landing in Toronto and then travel to Montreal

Thanks for the reply,

Yes, I will provide Toronto address for sending me the PR card, and after some days in Montreal I will be going to Toronto,

So Montreal is not my final destination or place to reside, my cousin is there so I will be in Montreal some days intially -- I will make this clear to the CBSA officer.

Only thing I want is to do landing formality at Montreal - is it possible when on my COPR destination is Toronto ??

This is like “Aa bail mujhe maar” (inviting trouble). Better to avoid such experiments and do your landing in Toronto then take a road trip to Montreal.
