I was able to speak to an agent today and she said that BGC is in progress but eligibility hasn't started yet. She also confirmed that my application is being processed in Calgary.
It seems that there is no specific order in which the application is processed and no average time as it varies case to case. Some are in IP1/IP2 for more than few months while others have got PPR in as soon as 18 days.
So let's keep our fingers crossed and wait patiently. Good Luck to Everyone!!

I am not adding any value to this thread except the same dumb question. But I still have it as a question

I have passed my medicals and the current status is like below

We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.

Am I in IP1?

Thanks :)
No question is dumb :) we ask questions and get answers, that’s how we learn from each other !

Hi All,

Yesterday I received an email from IRCC Etobicoke asking me to appear for an interview. I am not clear about the exact purpose of receiving this email. It does not clearly indicate the PR status whether approved or not. However, I am confused because it says 'Permanent Resident Landing Interview'. They have also asked me to bring along passport, photographs as per PR card specifications, SIN number (to update the number to permanent resident status) and pay RPRF fee if not already did. (I have paid already).

None of my friends who have PR have gone through such a route, no one seems to have received such an email from IRCC Etobicoke.

Has any one of you experienced this situation before? What does it imply about my PR application status?

Thanks for any help :)

Update: My interview was scheduled for today. I am happy to inform all that I finally got my PR. :)
Although the mail mentioned it as an interview, but it was nothing like one. It was landing actually. Though I am not sure why did I did not get the typical 'golden email' for PPR and was directly called for Landing by IRCC Etobicoke. I guess they are streamlining the process.

The officer just verified by passport, asked a few basic questions and gave me the CoPR. My SIN was also updated there itself to reflect PR status.

But here is my new concern. I really hope that somebody from this forum would be able to help me out for this. :(

Usually people get the golden PPR email and passports are submitted for all the applicants (including dependents not in Canada right now). However, as mentioned I did not get this email and was directly called for landing interview.
How is my spouse who is in India currently going to get his Visa to enter Canada?
I do not have any PPR email based on which my spouse can submit his passport.

I called the IRCC helpline and inquired for same. However the lady did not seem to be too sure herself. She said you 'might' get it soon. She did not seem to be clear about this whole new process thing,

Please help!! Will I get a passport request mail for my spouse? Is there anything that I can do to followup?

Thanks in advance.

You did not ask the question about your spouse’s PPR to the officer whom you met @Etobicoke ?
If you did what was there feedback ?

He Neha, I would to understand some additional points to get more clarity
Is your friend:
- Claiming 50 points for the Job Offer/Arranged Employment ?
- Has he completed 1 year for the same employer ?

Actually I would recommend to get Pr and then quit

Yes he got 50 points for Lmia and already worked one year with his employer, and currently working but wants to quit now

Thanks a lot yes its very helpful

But the thing is Employer is cutting his hours by offering parttime to someone else.

Ok that’s unfortunate to say the least..

But having said that ask him to hang in there, the PR process will soon or the later be completed.

Will there be any updates after this
