so annoyed!!! dont mind if file is being returned but it is so late already to not know the status of our application, given its been a month in sending. so frustrated and irritated and sad!! worked so hard on the application... now i m worried it might be sent back because i send 2015 NOA.. ugh people with similar timeline please update with your status !!!

i was feeling the same way you are right now. but then i just prepared myself to resend the file if it returns. i dont wanna get sad and make any other mistakes. so just calm down and gathering all the information from now that could have been the reason for returning package. in your case get 2016 NOA and think what else could have been wrong. dont get upset, things happen.

Just think positive that by the time we send our application CIC and NDVO will figure out this new process and our app can be done in 4 months.

Some applications have been accepted with 2015 NOA (Mine was). Others have had their applications returned because of 2015 NOA. For similar timelines, check the spreadsheet in my signature and add yourself.

For those of you who have linked your accounts, what combination worked for you? My representative is having trouble linking the my account and just wondering if anyone else is having trouble?

yes well there are still some people from april 4 and 5 who are waiting, which is giving me hopes but then again some april 5, 6 and even 7 have received. really confusing and frustrating to not know anything about my application this late in the game.

could i ask you if you provided reasons for not submitting the 2016 NOA on a seperate piece of paper? and did you submit 2015 option C print out option or just the regular 2015 NOA

I simply hadn't filed my 2016 taxes yet. I took "your most recent NOA" to mean the last one I had received from CRA and also considering that taxes aren't due until April 30. In the old application package checklist (before Dec 2016) I believe an Option C was asked for, and I had it ready when I filed this month, but because it wasn't mentioned in the updated checklist, I did not include it. When I heard people were getting their applications back because of 2015 NOA and or no Option C, I was convinced mine was coming back. It must be up to the individual officer perhaps? In a separate thread on this forum, someone said they called the call center and the agent said that some officers were sending back applications because they wanted a 2016 NOA. Some officers were ok with a 2015 NOA. I would like to see consistency in that regard.

That all said, I wouldn't be surprised if extra documentation such as my 2016 NOA or Option C were requested.

Yeah, it makes absolutely no sense to have it sent back especially because I wrote an explanation that I was not in Canada and I was studying for my degree outside Canada for the last year. If they wanted something so specific they shouldn't be vague in their checklist. I am really annoyed because we went over the checklist so many times and did everything!! really wish i got someone like your visa officer and not someone rude and heartless

First, make sure that the MyCIC account is in the name of the principal applicant and not the sponsor.
My wife (the PA) was able to link her application using her UCI number and the application number (including the F).
The Family and Given name fields for the PA should be identical to that entered in the IMM0008 form (including middle name)
City of Birth: enter a single space. click into the field and hit the space bar. That's it.
Leave passport info blank
Number of Applicants (2 for a standard application = sponsor + PA. add +1 for each dependent named in IMM0008

I Sent my Application on April 10 and got it received on April 13, still waiting for AOR.
Keep it up people! I appreciate this group giving Ideas how applications are being processed and somehow giving us timeline.

I'm assuming you sent your application to Mississauga and had postal tracking?

Really really hope so!!! and yes I sent through canada post through express post to the regular outland mail (not courier).. was delivered on april 5..someone signed it as well.

Today, I'm calm and collected but I was getting pretty panicky the last few days before we got our AOR. Everything will be ok

I've seen more than a week gap for AoRs for applications received on the same day so there's nothing to worry about yet.

April 4th applicant here but still nothing from the office.The more you worry the worse it gets, I guess we'll know when we'll know. Stay positive, at least that's what I'm trying.
