Background check started today while eligibility is still in process. Medical passed.

Except it's a sign that the application is making process, does the start of background check signal the application is close to being approved? Or, eligibility is satisfying enough to have the background check started?

It was the same for me and now it's been 4 weeks since background check started. for others, it was indeed a sign of the process being over soon. But I'm not sure if those lucky ones already had passed eligibility as well.

How did you know that your BG has started already? Was your stats is in progress?

I understand that review of background information may be Not started, Not needed at this time, In progress or Complete.

They really can not pass you on eligibility until you pass the background check is how it looks like they are proceeding. You are correct for some it was quick. At least you know there is movement. In my observation it means that almost everything is a go as why move to checking your background if there are other questions such as relationship. Just my view

Certainly hope that's the case.

At least it's good to know there's a movement... have been waiting for 6 months since application received.

Usually when your BG goes in progress you are very sure to get PPR , havent seen any one who got rejected after BG went in progress (unless ofcourss they're criminals).

according to our notes, our application assignment due date is Oct 31st 2016. And the eligibilty due date is june 2017... so i'm wondering if I should expect to hear from them on Oct 31st or expect to continue waiting until june 2017.

P.S under eligibility it says "review required".

Mine took a week, others took only a day. Where is your VO?

After 5 months, finally! I received an email from cic requesting for my passport to finalize my spouse visa. Yipeeee!!!

Now just a quick question, my VO is Abu dhabi, however I am planning to exit from my home country which is the Philippines. Would that be OK? or should i exit from where i am currently staying right now? (OMAN)

Any info regarding this?

It's been six months since our application was received. No word from Vienna VO yet. They are still doing eligibility review. Background check not started yet.

It's an update on MYCIC. The system will send an email for any change on MYCIC. Yes, it's now in progress.
