Good to know. My husband is from a visa exempt country so I guess that if there is no email about the DM or COPR then it will show up on Ecas. Is DM always positive? I just want to know soon so we can give notice to people and do the things we gotta do to move. Thank you! :D
No problem ;D. One thing that's interesting though is that Ottawa has been sending generic PPR mail/emails to non-Americans regardless of if they are or aren't visa-exempt, with directions on how to determine if you're visa-exempt and if you need a visa where to send the passport. I don't think Ottawa every used to do that and I'm curious if other offices will start doing that too.

it will depend what visa office the application is forwarded to. Some Visa offices send a second AOR to the applicant, most do not. other emails that can be received - ie: additional requests such as: additional relationship proof, updated Background form (i forget the form number, but it's quite common for some visa offices to request updated info); an interview invitation; passport request (for some visa exempt applicants, the passport request can be waived), request for RPRF payment.

Like HKVO, it sends AOR2 to applicants with a generic additional document requests like photos, fees, PCC, updated background form (IMM5669). It can be confusing to some as most document so requested should have already submitted if applicants follow the country specific instructions.

Don't worry!! I'm in the same boat pretty much. App received April 27th, and no SA. I can't access the Sponsor side either, only the PA side and it still just says application received and two lines, when it was received and medicals received

Hi,

My case is very much similar to you both. My SA application was received on April 26,2016. I cannot access the SA side but only PA side. I called CIC and they told my application was approved for SA and file has been transfered to overseas office for further processing.

Have your ECAS status on PA side changed or have you received an email from PA side that you application has been received and started processing

Please advise.

you as the sponsor will have to make the call. they will not release information about your file to anyone but you or the person you added as a "authorized representative" for your file. you would have filled out a form for your package if you added a representative. if you didn't fill out that form, only you can get info about your file. they will not release sponsor approval info to principal applicants unless they are an authorized representative.

Ok cool, makes sense. Thank you so much!

For me I only have AOR 1 and PA side just says application received.

If you've got SA I will definitely try calling tomorrow or Monday to see if an agent will tell me I've been approved as a sponsor

Good day! Can I ask if it is okay if I get passport in advance even if I don't have "passport request for visa" yet? Please reply. Thank you so much! :)

Get a passport? How could you apply without one?

My husband is a permanent resident in Canada, so he will be sponsoring me. I'm from Philippines. Here in the Philippines, you can get passport as long as you have complete requirements even if there is no request in embassy or immigration. I read in cic that there is a step which requires you or they will send you a "passport for visa request". So may point here is that, Is it ok if I get Philippine passport in advance for my preparation even if my husband will start my spousal sponsorship on August?

Hello! Do you have any idea how much it will cost my husband if he used a representative for the whole processing plus the consulation fee? any estimated cost will do. Thank you!

you can not send your application without a copy of your passport... "passport for visa request" means the visa office is asking you to send your passport for visa stamp, they are not giving you a passport with visa.. that's not how it works!

does anyone know if vienna VO sends aor2 in the mail/email or just the third line on PA side of ecas? i totally doubt this will happen but im hoping we get passport request before my trip to visit my husband in july

I've heard such services charge thousands, I heard one quote of $6,000.

The service does not in any way increase your chance of being approved,
other than they have experience in organizing the application.
But you know your story, the answer to the questions and the explanations,
they don't know to include anything until you explain all the details you want included to them.
Perhaps some people have found using an agency / immigration attorney to be worth their money
but my personal feeling is that most people can do equally as good an application on their own.

Yay, I got second line saying they're processing my file, wee! Nothing about medicals yet though. I still take it it counts as AOR2.

I'm glad to hear us from visa-exempt countries wouldn't have to send our passports for a visa stamp. I'd be scared, 'cause I'll be doing some traveling soon, and I wouldn't be able to part with my passport.

It depends on your location indeed. In BC, Canada I heard a lawyer charged about C$2000 for lawyers fees only.
