How come you have to send your passport at one point??
What if you have to use it, and you got no clue when you get it back?
Say, if I was in Canada visiting my husband and I was told to send my passport within a limited time frame, I'd be kind of unnerved.

I have no idea. Luckily I'm not in that kind of position.

@neetwo80: did you find a solution to your problem? If I remember right I wrote:"in 17 Months" (that was the average time back then till they have the app done) and added "as soon as possible". Even though I'm not planning to go there this year.

congrats to everyone who got sa, decision made, aor2 or file transfers. looks like a lot of action recently. had 7 pages to catch up on when i got home from work!

Still waiting patiently here. 53 days now and nothing yet. i know people get approved later than this but still. off to vancouver in 2 days. would be nice to have it before then!

I think you should be ok, but they are so mysterious. I got AOR2, I don't know for sure if it means they've moved past that issue and believe me that I want to move ASAP. I think they do. I actually have more proof that I can send but the email they sent said not to send more. I really did send them a lot in 3 different emails cause it all couldn't fit in one. So hopefully it's ok now. They have continued to process my application and did not wait 30 days.

I'm pretty sure that I'm through. Why would they request the passport if they needed more info...

Congrats! Did your original pictures have the same criteria as the ones they add in the email? Mine are according to those criteria so I'm assuming I don't have to send extra pictures but would like to comfirm that. And in that case, can I email a copy of my passport?

After reading the mail probably the 5th time, I'm not sure if I have to send my passport and photos.
I think I'm just gone call them.
Since English is not my native language I have to read some mails a few more times to get everything...

how much proof do they want to be satisfied? Ive sent them our wedding photos with my side of the family with friends, some vacation photos as well. think we sent 30+ photos and plus skype call logs 29 pages long? would that be good or still need more?

That depends on the officer. I would say it's enough though!

They will ask you if they need more. Don't worry

just because the letter was dated on june 3rd, doesn't mean that was the mailed date. what date is the envelope postmarked?

canada post doesn't deliver on saturday or sunday and is known to be slow. so really, it was more like 7 days (if it was in fact MAILED on June 3). which is still a long time for such a short distance. unfortunately, that is just canada post!
