Hi all I am new to this forum and hoping for some guidance.

My partner is from NZ and I am from Canada and currently living in Canada. We are hoping to apply as conjugal partners outland. He came to Canada on a travel work Visa October 2014 and stayed here until December 2014 when his Visa expired. Since that time he has been hoe but we have maintained the relationship and I just recently returned from a trip there.

Couple of focused questions as we start this process:
How recent does the medical have to be?
How many years should he have remaining on his passport when applying?
How recent does the police check have to be?
He is planning to come for a 2 week visit in October 2016, will that affect anything if we have an ongoing application filed?
Will it help to get a shared bank account while he is here?

Thanks in advance for your feedback, I just want to make sure we have everything in proper order and do this right from the start.

WELCOME TO APRIL 2016 SPOUSAL APPLICANTS FORUM: :D :D :D

All the applicants and sponsors can start this forum with understanding of outland spousal process;

1. SPONSOR expectation during the first step: ;D ;D ;D

a. AOR1 or Application package will be sent back for lack of important document
b. request for missing document or updated document - based on your spousal application
c. Medical, CIC payment, required application forms and Police report check
d. SA = Sponsor Approval email or letter

2. SPONSORED APPLICANT expectation during the second step: :o :o

e. AOR2 - from Visa Office
f. missing or updated document request - based on case to case
g. eligibility and criminality check
h. Interview - based on case to case
i. passport request for visa

firstly i would post your query on the main thread. this is a group for applicants who have already applied in April. Secondly, I dont think you qualify for a conjugal visa because new zealanders can go to canada on a tourist visa. to apply you need to be commonlaw or spousal. conjugal cateogry are very rarely granted and are for special cricumstances.

as i mentioned, post your concern in the main thread or even do a search. all of the answers to your questions are in other forum posts.

if it has been longer than the 40 days CIC are advertising then you are allowed to call them and find out why it is taking so long.

Thank you Gary will do!

i was finally able to log in and check my application online..i had to use application number to log in.. nothing showed up when i tried with client id number.. so for those saying they cant check online maybe try a different identification type.

when i logged in at the top it shows my husbands street name, city, postal code but not the country.. i was just wondering if it shows the country for others?

I suppose looking at the spreadsheet in another 1-2 weeks should recieve mine AOR1 if everything ok!

Yeah apeats to take around 21 days with some early ones and some later ones.

What the apreadsheet is for - so we can see how we are autting with everyone else :)

Well we all want our husbands or wives come to canada and live together HAPPILY EVER AFTER.may all of your dreams come true soon but dont do any comparison with someones file being processed fast not yours because each case is different and you may only use others timeline only for a healthy calculation of how things get done in cpc/lvo.and dont get jelous or freeked out once someones file get processed faster and not urs .be positive be nice to everyone and wait for your turn and nobody wants to see any of us application being rejected or sent back.love you all :P
