Hey All,

So my husband landed Saturday afternoon at the Queenston Lewiston Bridge (niagara region/Buffalo). We actually crossed into the States in the morning, shopped a little bit and then re-entered Canada.

It was super easy, super smooth. Told the Canadian Border guard that we had been shopping and that my husband had been granted permanent residency and we'd like to have him Land since we are reentering. The border guard was super nice, asked how my husband was already in Canada, and we told him that he was on a work and travel visa. He looked at that for about 30 seconds and then sent us into the office and said that the immigration officer there would land him.

We waited maybe 20 minutes for the officer inside to do his thing. It actually ended up being the same officer that processed his IEC visa so they chatted about that for a second. Then that was it! He congratulated us and told us to go home and celebrate! Very easy, very smooth.

congrats, what is your timeline? which VO?

I applied in April (obviously), and am in Vancouver now on a visitor's visa, ready to 'land' as soon as possible, going back to US in August for a few weeks on a job.

VO is Mississaugua

I'm just not sure how the whole mail thing works - how does CIC send it? Will USPS forward it from my old address?

I've had a status update for a few weeks - Decision Made
Was a bit of a delay in getting my ROPR fee reciept submitted, but i recieved confirmation from CIC on that several weeks ago. So my question now is what is the next step? I'm assuming at some point, unless something goes terribly wrong, I'll get a COPD? Is it shipped to me or my sponsor? Also, we have mail forwarding in place, from our NYC address to one in Washington state.

Appreciate any clarification... just a bit confused lol

Visa exempt, they won't request passport.

It's possible they will ask for a copy, otherwise COPR will arrive in the mail.

The fact that RPRF was requested means it's more than likely a positive decision.

Linking is not working
i dont seem to recall in my application a question "where does the applicant intend to stay in canada". but when linking file to mycic account there is a bar for that question. I dont think there was any question like that in the application .
Correct me if i am wrong . and would you be able to tell me where is that written on the application.
I am struggling to link my account

They are just asking where are you going to live in Canada when you landed. It's the place/province where your spouse live right now.

yes, this is true for spousal sponsorships as well. the visa office is not going to request the RPRF if they don't intend to approve the application. there will be no point in requesting it, as it will not need to be paid if rejected. the name of the fee itself assumes approval - it's called the RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCY FEE. A person who's application is rejected will not be required to pay this fee, this is the fee to process the COPR and visa issuance. If the fee isn't paid upfront, the request generally comes at the same time or after as the passport request - which means the application is approved.

Yes, why would CIC request the payment giving right to PR if they were going refuse the app?

Just checking back in here. Congrats CanGer on the DM. Good news!

No news my end. Just sitting back and waiting to hear anything. Haven't received my notes yet. I'm sure they wont tell me anything more than what my MyCIC account says but I'm interested to know if they have any comments about my application and about my missing police check.

Also, side note, still haven't received any correspondence (letter or email) about my wife's SA. We got it confirmed over the phone and were told we'd receive it within a week or so of calling but that was about a 6 weeks ago. Still no word. Weird.

Linked my wife's application to my CIC account. It says Medicals passed, Eligibility "Review in progress". Rest "Not started".

My GCMS notes should be coming in 10 days. Hope there is more in that.
