I converted too .. but my wife never tells me once to practice. what so ever.. her parents were so happy that we married and also attended our wedding. her dad used to live in Vienna, speaks German fluently. their parents to me is very westerner. I just did Shhaida to marry her.. that's about it... thank you Imabule!!!!
also, Tunisia seems not Muslim at all. they have our kinda of fastfood like fatburger. people dont go to pray 4 times a day.. i bought wine bottles at the grocery stores. muslim people told me what's a good local winery bottle i should get.. totally shock. like their restaurants serve liquors.. i think that's not allowed in many muslim countries.. i even found pork and pepperonis at Carefour, a grocery store.
Indonesia also has liquor and pork in the Carefour, but the country is deeply religious. I too said the Shahada to be able to marry my wife, although the religious office did tell me I had to get cut to be considered a Muslim and be able to marry my wife.
And I wouldn't worry about inquiring about your application. I called them 1 day after the listed time to ask about my SA. The call centre agent sounded surprised when she looked into my file saying "it's only been 38 days and the listed time is 37 days", but she was otherwise very polite and informed me a positive decision had been made and to expect correspondence within a week.
My file has been at SVO for under 2 months and I've ordered GCMS twice already and will order again June 2 when the deadline for my second notes passes. I have also visited my MP office to ask why NDVO is processing applications so fast when the listed time is longer than my wife's country. The MP is inquiring about my file. I have also sent SVO more evidence of my relationship.
I think being active in wanting to know where your application stands shows that it means something to you. I am not worried about them "red flagging" me because I order new notes the day I get them or because when a posted timeline passes I call to ask or because I send more documentation willfully without them asking for it.
