Congratulations! I applied the same day as you and still no SA, so hopefully mine isn't far behind.julies879 said:Sitting here, stunned. Just logged on to my ecas and boom. Decision made. App received to DM in just over 6 weeks. We anticipated a 4-6 month process. Less than 7 weeks? Mind blown.
When it happens, it'll likely happen fast! Hang in there!Decoy24601 said:Congratulations! I applied the same day as you and still no SA, so hopefully mine isn't far behind.
I'm trying ;D! It baffles me how slow my SA is right now. Seeing Ottawa process applications in literally a week is such a tease too . I've been checking my eCAS and no "in process" on my PA side so far, so I'm fairly sure I don't have SA yet.julies879 said:When it happens, it'll likely happen fast! Hang in there!
yours will come and by the time you notice; it's in Ottawa, might be already there.. then DM is very soon.. Americans are never processed slowly... that's for sure.Decoy24601 said:I'm trying ;D! you know how many Americans wanna leave cuz of Trump and Clinton... i am sure you knew that already.julies879 said:We do know how fortunate we are. Beyond grateful...and excited! I'm a PR!
Oh, I'm quite aware. I'm a Bernie gal but the election holds no weight in our choice to apply for PR.yijiequ said:you know how many Americans wanna leave cuz of Trump and Clinton... i am sure you knew that already.
I'm fairly sure my application is still in Mississauga. I only called a few days ago and they said it was still in process. I've seen nothing to indicate my application is in Ottawa yet.yijiequ said:yours will come and by the time you notice; it's in Ottawa, might be already there.. then DM is very soon.. So, so true. We lived up in Calgary the first year we were married to Canadian culture is foreign to me but to the vast majority of Americans, it might be different than they expected. So happy to be a Canadian PR!Decoy24601 said:I'm fairly sure my application is still in Mississauga. I only called a few days ago and they said it was still in process. The funny thing is, many Americans who say they'll want to move to Canada if Trump or Hillary wins don't actually know what Canada is like at all and most likely would have very different political views and honestly probably wouldn't like living here. When gay marriage became legal at a federal level a lot of people said that wanted to move to Canada... well, guess what? lol
Well, living in Calgary would be fairly different from let's say, Vancouver. I've lived in both Alaska and Washington and I'm in a small town south of Vancouver now (in Canada) and it doesn't seem that different to me. Most people can't even tell I'm not from here. It's the little things that catch me off guard. For example, I can't find some of my favorite foods here in the grocery store and some of the same foods taste a bit different. Shipping is more of a hassle here and I definitely prefer USPS over Canada Post. I really wish Canada Post had a flat-rate "if it fits, it ships" option. I'm so used to that.julies879 said:So, so true.
