I got a paper invite in the mail but I didn't get an email. I think they typically do one or the other.

I agree. Partner received the test invite via snail mail. E-case still shows as in process.

Yep seems this is what they are doing now. I got mine (last week) by email but my wife (6 months ago) had hers by snail mail.

I just wanted to share that I'm about to take the test next month and I'll see how it goes. So far, everything good!!! 8)

Finally i got my invitation to the citizenship test ;D But they did a strange mistake, they sent it by email to the immigration consultant that i used when i applied for the PR 6 years ago, and i am sure my email is updated as they sent me the AOR by email on the correct email address. Thank god he reached out to me and forwarded me the email.

Also ecas was not updated it is still showing: We started processing your application on June 11, 2015.

I am from Montreal and here is my timeline:

CIC is all over the place. Some people receive email first and some people receive regular mail.
At least it is good to see some movement in the Toronto applications

Yep, seems there is no consistency (or at least not an apparent one) in what CIC does. I received my test invite last week by email, I did not get any invite by regular mail (or not yet so far).

There is another inconsistency in the test invits line in ECas. I've got :

4 - We sent you a notice on October 14, 2015 to appear and write the citizenship test. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

I have no test date in the Ecas, while some others mentioned they have that...

e-cas usually takes a day or 2 to update. Same thing happened with my AOR. It took 2 days for it to update on e-cas.
