Received by CIC on 27/3, got the email on 10/4

It means only after 14 days you got AOR ??? If true then in December it was 40/70 days . This shows high speed of CIC. Good luck

I got an email to acknowledge receipt of my application for citizenship, it has UCI and application #. Is this email genuine? can I use the UCI to check the status of my application?

It is genuine if email come from cic domain name which is "cic.gc.ca"

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and i find it really helpful so far :)

I will send my application tomorrow and i am so exited, but i want to ask you a couple of questions to be sure before i send it:

1. during a period were i was unemployed i went back to visit my family and stayed for about 3 month and it is already mentioned in the residence calculator, do i have to split it on the Work/Education section or not?

2. My second question is, when i send using CanadaPost Xpress do i send to the Regular Mail address or the Courier address? i know it sounds stupid but the reason i am asking is because the Regular Mail address is a PO Box and i think Xpress usually requires a signature.

Thank you in advance for your help

just send Regular Mail address ..I did the same and they got my application.

1. This is more of a judgment call - just make sure there are no gaps in time in the address section and the work/education section. We had a similar situation in which we moved while my husband was unemployed. I did split it up in the work/education section so that the dates and location matched those in the address section.

2. Xpresspost can be purchased with signature or without. We did without, but sent it to the courier address. I think they will get it either way.

first thing - I did same mistake, why I said it as mistake, because I missed to mention same period in work/education period. Instead if I had mentioned about that in work/education period, that would have been better.

I will recommend to mention explicitly about that period in work/education section, because that section asks about work status IN or OUTSIDE of Canada. Just check-out my post at - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/april-2015-citizenship-applicants-t272701.60.html

at the moment I am not certain if my application will be returned or I will get AOR? Had I mentioned the period info in work/education also, I must be in much confident status.

But good thing is that (or one hope after reading your post and realized that) - I did mentioned about that period in Residence information, and mentioned my out of country address for that period. [I also mentioned about reason for being out of country in days calculator form that I was working back in my residing country - but not sure if visa officer will honor those details or return my application for missed to mention about that period in work/education section] But for sure I am hoping to get either a rejection or AOR by end of coming Friday (17th April) so will let all know.

But why to take a chance.. and add detail for that period in work/education section too .. good luck.

Hi Guys,

Thank you a lot for your help.

I did split the the period when i was unemployed and mentioned that for those 3 months i was unemployed in my home country and put in the reason that i was on vacation and waiting to come back to Canada to work.

As for the mailing, i sent it today using Canada Post Xpresspost (No Signature) to the courier address :)

I hope everything goes well, i really don't want to fall under the new law so i checked all the documents 100 times!!

Sunafi, good luck and hopefully you well get AOR soon.

Wish you guys all the best in your applications

There are 2 april applicants (N4NAT and cepe6po) who have received AOR's but I am unable to find these members on the site :o :o :o :o... who added them in.. are they genuine?

I am one of April applicants. How many days since application receiving could we receive our AORs?

I asked this question in another forum (The effective date of bill c-24 forum), but nobody answered me because it seems everybody is busy arguing with each other there.

Quick question: I will send my certified copy of my masters degree from canada, along with my grades?

Is that enough for language proof and proof of education, I saw here that some people got their application returned because the agent thought that one of those two was missing.

Thanks for your input.

I think it is enough. Photocopies of your degree certificate and transcripts are OK for language proof and education record, don't forget to check the box of sending transcripts as a proof of language in checklist.

Hello fellow April applicants!

Was wondering if there is a way to check the status of our application online? I remember I used to log in in CIC's website to check the update of my spouse PR application.

Is there one for citizenship application?

Thank you all!
