Ok, it's a hypothetical situation... I know, but I've been thinking that maybe this change (express entry stuff) will speed up the processing time. Basically, the cap will be filled around october (1300 application per month - new cap of 8000 starting on May 1st), therefore we might get some boost between november / december before the express entry starts. I know, again... it's just a dream, but dreaming is currently free :)

That's exactly why they put the caps in place, so that there's no backlog by January for when
the new system comes in place.

Congrats people receiving their AOR's and getting there credit cards charged.

@sandy4pr, my application was received 12 days after yours so hoping to get charged around May 7th :D

This forum is very helpful and also has helped me gain some faith that my application will be processed this time only.

But to be honest, I'm feeling very tensed about my application. It had reached on 7th of April, but the quota (NOC 3212) is almost up : 274. Do I stand a chance to get my visa?

I'm very very nervous. Please answer honestly. :(

Hi Sammy,

As per CIC site, only 3 applications has been received for NOC 3212 as of 14th April. So you're good, no worries. And the cap limit is 200. It cannot go to 274 anytime.

what supporting documents did u send this time for ur wife's DOB????

I got new birth certificate from India....

Guys... please be careful while editing the spreadsheet. Someone deleted my entry from the spreadsheet. It is easy to update.. find a blank cell at the bottom and update your entry. you don't have to update over others entries.

Hi All,
Sent my CEC PR application under NOC 5122 on April 26. Should arrive at Sydney by May 1.
Am quite nervous about everything, but trust that all should go fairly well.
Thanks for the forum! And good luck to all other April applicants.
Warm regards.

hellooo,

need a piece of advice one of my friend is trying to apply under CEC (NOC 2174) but he doesn't have a employer reference letter ....so some one adviced him to apply under FSW for which the CAP of 300 starts from May1st.

So just want to understand which is better in his case CEC or FSW . If he applies under FSW can he get BOWP like we get in CEC?

thanks in advance.

Sandy

For both the categories, your friend will require a reference letter, without which the processing of his application will be delayed or it can lead to refusals.
As for which one's better, going by history, CEC has shorter processing time and is far more straight forward than FSW. Again, if he does not have a reference letter, neither of the categories will work for him.

Thanks much......what about the BOWP ?? will he still be getting the BOWP if he applies under FSW. because my understanding is FSW will take atlest 2 years for processing so will he get BOWP for 2 years if he applis under FSW

As per OB 485-A, BOWPs will be issued for 1 year, regardless of the stream a principal applicant has applied under.
