Apparently many things can delay an application and other applications then jump positions in the queue. Time for processing background checks, checking the credentials, checking the data you provided with your application, checking the dependants information, etc.

For instance, you have an applicant with spouse+children in position one, and an applicant alone in position two. If for some reason it took more time to process position one while position two is done, then they wouldn't delay position two. So, there's nothing wrong with the applicant with spouse+children, it just takes more time to process.

I'm not sure if this understanding is correct. Any thoughts on this?
