Thanks. Lets see what is waiting for me.
It's a pretty standard email everyone gets. Even I got exactly the same even though I don't have a wife, let alone expect a baby! ;)

If you get the PPR email and think you can land before the birth of your baby, I don't think you have to inform them. At least that what the email says, doesn't it?

I need your suggestion, my wife is with me in Canada but we are expecting baby on May. As you can see from our timeline that our file is in process since Dec 23, 2013. My question is to should we inform them about the upcoming delivery or my wife or they will ask me through email (ppr email)? I am going to inform them for sure if the ppr email comes after her delivery. But if I get ppr email before the delivery, what should I be doing? Please suggest me from your experience. Thanks

Hi Shifat,
I believe since you are in Canada, your child born here becomes a citizen. Therefore there will be no need to add him/her to your application. You should inform CIC of the birth though.
My thoughts...

Dear Friends,

I am extremely Happy to inform you that we have received PPR this morning.

It took more than 4.5 years to get everything done including getting the AINP nomination. However, it's worth to wait for such a long time.

Wish everybody here to get your PR soon, just be patient and one day your turn will come.

Hope you are aware that actually we had received our PPR early October 2013, but as my wife pregnant that time, we could not submit our passports immediately. We have finished new born's medicals and also my wife's medicals. Then we got our PPR now.

I had sent my passports to my attorney in Canada 10 days ago itself (because I was expecting my PPR soon). The passports are now on the way from my attorney to CPP-Ottawa. Hopefully I might get my passports by end of next week (March 7th). We are planning to go for landing soon after getting our passports.

Thank You,
Sarayu...:-)

Congratulation :) .. good luck in your future

congrats and thanks for sharing :) , if u change ur address , we should mail our new addresss to e-mail given in mail and send our passports right.

Yes - thats what i did - although i requested for change of address a month ago before i got the PPR, my PPR e-mail showed the old address, so i informed them the same and they modified it accordingly - now my e-cas shows the new address

Shifat - In your case it shouldnt be a problem either way (either your wife give birth to the baby before or after PPR e-mail), because for the children who are born in Canada, there is no additional processing, all they require is Baby's birth certificate. So just relax and take action accordingly !!

Hi friend, thanks for your reply. Only concern of mine is that, if I get the ppr email before our baby's birth, what should I do then? Should I just send the passports for visa or just inform them about the upcoming baby. I know, (s)he is going to be Canadian citizen but for us it delays the process and we need to re do our medicals and also our visa is expiring soon. I am confused what should I be doing. Should I inform them or just send the passport and get the VISA.

If i were you, i will wait until i get my PPR e-mail, and simply reply to them explaining the case (i.e. when is the due date and planned delivery in Canada or outside Canada) and seeking advice. On the other hand, if the baby is born before PPR email, then, i will inform them the same via e-mail.

Today we received our passports with CoPR and PR stickers. CPC-Ottawa took 3 working days to print the visa. Thanks again to everyone for your insights and wishes :) :) :) !!
