well new year is not far away ;-).
We'll I don't know bro......., new year means they can give PPR at any time from jam to dec right..... I booked ticket to India for April 2 I don't know I will get it before that...... I guess it will take at least a month to get our passport back right

hey kijo

i just read your post about passport. u MUST TELL THEM THAT U GOT A NEW ONE . OTHERWISE IT IS MISREPRESENTATION. they will know by the issue date of your passport when was it issued and if you dont tell them ahead of time you might be in problem when u get PPR.

It is always good to send a scanned copy to CPP-Ottawa of your new passport. It will not amount to misrepresentation, but might get you delayed as you might have to furnish more details or you could always write a covering letter along with your PPR. When you get an RPRF request, they usually ask us to Renew or Re-issue the passport if its due to expire in the next 6 months.

Quick question guys, my international passport expires at the end of the year and have already been issued a new one with a different passport number. Wondering which of the offices I should send a copy of this new passport to in order to update my file? CPP-O or Nova Scotia?

Thanks for your kind response.

Hi ab100,

You have to send a scanned copy of your new passport to your visa office. I hope you know what is your visa office and the corresponding email of them. Please send it as soon as you can, because your passport number will be printed on your CoPR document and that MUST be your latest passport number otherwise you will have issues at the time of landing as your new passport number is different from the old one which the visa office has on their records.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks Saraya! My visa office is CPP-O and I just sent a scanned copy and cover letter to CPPO-Cost-Recovery@cic.gc.ca. Is their any address I should be sending this to?

Thank you.

Hi ab100,

The email address that you mentioned was to send fee receipt. Please send the scanned copy of your new passport and a cover letter to this email address: OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca

Please provide your full name and UCI Number in the email, so that CPP-O can be able to pull out your file easily.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

I agree with immigrationaspirant . One of my friends was in same situation and he didn't update CIC about new passport. He just sent it with his old passport when he got PPR. He got his PR with no problem. I think now, for me, its gonna take same time (delay) even if I update them with an email.
I never got RPRF request as I paid it soon after my medicals.

However I agree its always better to update them right away so maybe I will send the scanned copy. nothing to lose.

thanks guys.!!!

hey guys i just got a email from ottawa it says"Hello,

An officer will be reviewing the file in the new year and making a decision then.

Regards"

so waiting continues

Just to make you happier - the reply I received from my VO today:

No, medical instructions have not been sent to you yet. Please refer to our correspondence from August as attached

Sounds rude.

'vishunuhari' - i totally agree with you - its really hard to predict this PR processing - i hope you are also aware of the fact that you may not be able to travel abroad until you get the PR card, which takes another two months from your date of landing (it can be shorter or longer too !!) - actually i am on the same boat, i have to visit my family back home for to finish some compulsory things in this summer and i am not sure how this PR processing is moving -

Good luck.

Will they work this week and next week in CPPO?

I have been waiting for more than 4 months since IP Aug 19th. Received April 12, 2013.

My HR department even called me to ask about the current progress. So panic.

So even after you land with PR, you can't travel until you get the PR card??
