Hello,

I received the following email from CIC. Can someone refer to the last line and guide me please ? Does that mean I can scan and send the documents via email and not necessarily send hard-copies by mail

This confirms acknowledgement of your email below informing us of the birth of your child.
In order to add your child to your application, we require the following items:
· Processing fee for your child (if accompanying you to Canada)

· Copy of your child’s birth certificate

· Copy of your child’s valid passport

· Four (4) recent photographs of your child according to specifications

· Updated IMM 0008 Generic Application Form for Canada for yourself and updated IMM 5406 Additional Family Information form for yourself and your spouse

Copies of the original documents are required. If these documents are not in English or French, they must be accompanied with original certified translations in English or French. All documents must be sent by email, mail or fax according to the address and number below.

Thank you.

Hi, As they are asking for photographs as well, you need to mail them for sure. So include all above docs (copies of your child's birth certificate, passport, original updated forms and fee). I suggest you include their email copy + a cover letter to say you are sending these as requested.

For safer side, you can scan the whole package you gonna mail & sent it in email as well. Good luck.

Please note that CPC-Ottawa does not send out passports outside of North America.

ie , enclosing return xpress post envelope

I don't think you need to submit all this documents. They mean to say passports and the copy of that e-mail as documents. And send all of them to provided mailing address. That's it. Don't make the case too complicated. It's as simple as that and according to my exp I haven't sent anything other than those documents and it worked well too.

Hey friends,

I did my landing yesterday.

It was very simple and easy going. I entered in US via pease bridge. There, they asked me a reason and I explained them that m gonna have a lunch and going to land through rainbow bridge. They did not ask me a second question and let me go through.

I went ahead for suicidal chicken wings at one of those american bars in Buffalo. It was so delicious. and then spent some time at outlet mall.

When I came back to Canada they asked me for reason. They sent me inside and I set there for may be 5-10 mins and the officer called my name. Unfortunately in government records I was still single :o 8) Then they updated my status and done. Then officer congratulate me and said I will receive my PR card in 4-6 weeks in mail. A....nd I landed.... :D ;)

But I would like to share this point to everyone:
Custom department asks about the things that you own. They asked me if I have brought anything with me or not. If not then do I want to bring in future? When I said that yes I own some things in back home which I want to bring, they gave me a custom declaration form in which you will need to specify the things and their value. So, that when you bring those thing they will not charge custom duty on them. No mater which way it comes in Canada. They will keep one copy with them and leave one with you. So, If you are planning to bring your goods from back home them don't forget to fill this form. There is no harm in filling this form.

I just saw medicals have been received on my Ecas! :)

I feel so silly though, I thought that the "medicals received" would replace the "in process" status on the first page you go to on ecas, I didn't realise that when you click it the next page has more information haha so this may have been updated yesterday or friday, I'm not sure but so glad I found it! :)

that's just over 10 days since I did my Medical so seems to be right on track!

Thanks everyone for posting your updates it helps so much in predicting timelines! and Thanks for your landing story ravskabra! Congratulations! :)

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to say that my ecas has been updated to "Decision Made" this afternoon.

To recap, my timeline is;

- MR Jan 17
- Medical done Jan 24
- Medical received Feb 16

After taking the exam, I got really concerned and asked for help here. So with the advice, I emailed CIC on Feb 14th asking what the status is. I have a feeling this had something to do with the "Medical received" update.

I'm still very cautious, but I shouldn't be right?

@biki @ravskabra
Thanks for your help.

Wait, i just checked now and it says decision made...

Could there be something wrong if it goes from "Medical results received" to "decision made" without more steps involved? Could they have just went to "decision made" because it was rejected...?

Mine updated on the same day, Medical received and then decision made. It's hard to not to think of all the outcomes.

But I think we're on the right track now. Are you still waiting for CoPR now?

Remind me, have you emailed them yet? I truly think that sending an email had something to do with my update.

I don't want to get my hopes too high, but I'm excited to see what comes in my mail.
