I hope everyone had a good long weekend, despite the one-day setback it causes at CIC. Nov 11 was our 1st anniversary, and I consider myself extremely lucky that we were able to spend it together. That would have been a hard day to spend apart.

I definitely regret not paying the entire fee upfront, as we're still waiting to pay the right of permanent residence fee. My grandparents lent us the money, but it's on hold in my husbands bank because it was an international money order. >:(
Hopefully we'll get the RPRF and passport sent to CIC by Thursday, then yaaaay more waiting!

hello everyone! I am a newbie and other people have mentioned the spreadsheets for April applicants (a very impressive and helpful looking spreadsheet, if not a little intimidating for an idiot like me!) My application was received on April 29th, medical was April 21st, and I received a letter August 2nd for the sponsor approval. At the moment ecas states application and medical results received but that is all for now. Sweden advised me to post on this thread and hopefully someone would be able to add me to the spreadsheet, which would be great if you could. By the looks of things us April applicants are getting pretty close, so I shall keep my fingers crossed for us all!

Just added your info! welcome!!

Hey guys, would anybody share their experience with me in their interview ? is the interview the last step to get the visa? thanks

There's only one from the April applicants who have been requested an interview so far and he hasn't been to the appointment yet. Perhaps try posting in the thread with your visa office, you might get more responses that way :)

thank you sunshine87.

what's your visa office? I am suggesting it might be the Accra office cos you can't go through that office without an interview.

no its santo domingo

Ok some visa offices like mine do request for interview purposely to see the principle applicant in front of their own eyes. So yes the interview is the final step for them to issue the visa so just relax and attend the interview with confidence you should be ok.

my medical expired already, so i was wondering how come they ask me for interview with passports required if later on they will ask me to redo the medicals? unless they extend it already, but i guess they know what they are doing...

Did you have your medicals in the last 15 months? If so then they will want to verify the validity of your relationship and if they are happy extend the medical. Note: This can only be applied if you have had your medical in the last 15 months. If it has been longer than 15 months they will verify your relationship and tell you to have a further medical.

Thanks for your reply... Yes i know i would have to redo the medicals coz it has passed the 15 months, but when they asked me to bring passports to interview, i thought ha who knows, they might have extended it... lol its good to have hopes. coz we associate passports with visas...

yes that is normal to bring your passport to the office during the interview. Like i said in some visa offices even if the case doesn't need an interview they will still call you to see you. Now if everything is in order they will give you the visa right after the interview in most cases unless they want to further review the file and make decision. Even if they want you redo the medical they will give you a special form after the interview and they will keep your passport once they recieve the medical result they will call you or send you email or letter to pick up your passport with your visa.

I think R151NG5UN is right, the interview will establish the validity of your relationship. If they are convinced after the interview, they'll go ahead and request a new medical exam. So the interview might not quite be the last step for you, but you're very close!! Good luck, by the way!
