That seems almost accurate for April applicants.

from the past update:

7 days passed
CIC went 9 days forward (from april 2 to april 11)

they could have gotten to april 20 if they didn't open the end of may early june files

I guess what they are doing is working forward from May 25th onwards as well as processing late April and early May applicants. Their end goal is obviously to get that app waiting times right down to within 45 days so it looks like end of April and early May are the unlucky process but in 3-4 weeks time the processing times will be substantially lower than the 91 days. You cant argue with this method as July 2012 applicants and onwards will feel the full benefit of what they are doing now. February and March 2012 applicants had way too long to wait so this is the way logistically they can clear this backlog.

would love to see you rationalize that if you had sent the app a week earlier

I have been consistent with my views before getting AOR (See earlier posts) If they can reduce the waiting time from 91 days to 45 days then that benefits everybody in the future. It looks like they are rolling out June applications now as well doing mid late April and early May. 45 days waiting time is much better than 90 days. Yes I benefited no doubt and the people to suffer from this plan are mid April onwards which is terrible but late may/ early june cases aside this will be better for everybody applying from this date forward.

I agree with this theory, I was thinking the same. If CIC wants to get the system back to its original timescales, this is a logical way to do it. Sucks for the rest of us, and especially those still waiting. But ultimately it should pay off, and things should level out.

another way to do it is make the people working on late may early june work simultaneously on april and get the times from 90 days to 45 days down gradually... without jumping over 1,5 month... #justsaying

As least you guys know what will go on in STEP two all of us from the states are in limbo right now so although we have sponsorship approval which we all received in 85+ days we still have no idea what is going on for step 2...CIC all around needs to get their acts straight so that what happened to JAN-APRIL never occurs again!
