If you pay all three upfront which is quicker, then it should be $1040

$75 for sponsoship fee
$475 for principal applicant
$490 right of permament residence fee (this can be paid later but delays you recieving your PR status.

If there are dependants then extra fees apply

Hello April applicants...

I am an October applicant (sponsor) but thought I would let you know how my app proc time was from Mississauga office just to give you an idea...

I sent my application through Canada Post on Friday October 14, 2011 at approx 6pm.

In December the processing times were at 67 days... On December 12, I received an email from CIC-M stating that they received my application on Wednesday October 19, 2011. In the email I was given my UCI # and a File #. Then on December 22, I received a second email from CIC-M stating that I was approved for sponsorship. I believe that the processing times were updated the same day to 65 days and I was processed in 62 days... THe UCI # allows you to log into e-cas using sponsor's birth date and details to show your status and status of applicant. If you use File # and applicant's birth date and details, then it will show status of applicant only...

Just to give you an idea... Every app is different, as well as every IO (immigration officer) is different. Not everyone receives the first email and that is frustrating but just remember if your app processing time goes past the current stated time on their website, then you have every right to call in and inquire...

Good luck to everyone! It is a long wait and an emotional roller coaster! Stay close in this forum and you will support each other. You are gonna have good days and bad days. Post your feelings and if you see someone down when you are up then bring them up with you. Don't get feisty with eachother as you are all in the same boat and feeling the same emotions. Tell jokes and stories and things will be good. THis is but one small time in your life, which will fell like forever right now, but in the grand scheme of things will be minuscule...

I wrote an appendix for the document checklist indicating which forms are not applicable. Item 14, for me, is not applicable. Item 17 is applicable, but if you don't have an original Option C, then you must provide an explanation and other documentation. Item 18 is a required document, so you need to make sure to include an original letter from your current employer - pay stubs or other evidence is good, but not a requirement. If you are unemployed, this would not be applicable...but I would still write an explanation...

For the online payment make sure you write exactly the same name as your credit card states. I did the online payment without a problem and quickly. Just do things slowly and accurately and you will succeed. Fencesitter explained the rest very good.

Hi Fencesitter,

Thanks for the explanation

I m submitting my original Notice of Assesment so i dont have to tick point no 17 of Documents checklist right.

FOr point no 18 : i m submitting letter from my employer and paystubs do i need to tick it.

WHat about point no 19..please let me know thanks.

I go thru online payment.....and on receipt do i need to write my wifes name or my name along with date of birth and clients id and address...please let me know thanks

The way I look at it is this: if you are providing exactly what is required on the checklist, tick the box. If you are unable to provide an original, but are providing an explanation + something similar to what is requested, don't tick the box. I did not tick the box for the Option C Printout because I am not providing it. Instead, I am providing a two paragraph explanation, my tax assessment in China, statement of earnings from my employer for the past two year (2010 and 2011), plus pay stubs for the past 8 months.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as you document everything with explanations / supporting evidence, all should be fine.

Item 19 is not applicable for my situation, as our son is already a Canadian citizen. The only person being sponsored is my wife. If you have dependent children, or dependent children who have dependent children (I think??), you need to provide what is requested in item 19.

Just document everything with as much details as you can. The more you show the VO that you are putting in a lot of effort, the better the chances of a smooth and quick process.

Hope that helps!

It should be the sponsors name and address on it. You do not have a ID code yet for this application, so leave it blank.
