Hey girzim, girzim said:Hi NewlyWed, Yeah, we both live in Korea. He's Canadian and I'm Irish and we're planning on moving to Canada next year. We had a problem trying to prove intent to live in Canada too. We just didn't know what to say other than, we want to leave Korea and it was a choice between Ireland and Canada and Canada won. I am pretty nervous about having to explain all this to immigration though! Was that the same situation as the other people you know or was it different? Thanks for your reply and stay safe during this weird typhoon we seem to be having! Jenny
Hello Sweeden, i wish we could have done the same thing. we tryed to start the aplication while staying at our home country (Albania), since we both have a good jobs, but we didn't know how to prove that we will settle in Canada after we got approvement of RP. so my husband is back in Canada two moths now, and still looking for a job. relly hard for three of us (Our doughter).Sweden said:Hey girzim,
if you are still putting together the application, good luck with that! Just a tip about proving to go to Canada ( my partner and I are also living in a different country, not Canada and not mine, so it was also just a choice for Canada... but difficult to explain!) - we got approved, and he didn't have a job offer etc. What we did is we wrote a timeline of the steps that we intend to take in order to move, and also got letters from his family saying that they will support us when we arrive...
For the timeline, we got quite specific - try to include the steps that are needed in Korea to leave the country, how long in advance you need to cancel your rent agreement etc. Pick a date ( even if you are not completely sure for now) of when you want to land in Canada, and work your schedule"backwards" from there. You can also get some quotes (over the internet) from moving companies, to show that you have looked into the practical aspects of things. You could also buy a fully refundable one way plane ticket, print it, and include it in your application ( and then cancel it later on if you don't intend to use it). If you don't have a job offer to go back to, you need to build your case to show that you will be moving to Canada once your PR is approved, and that you are aware of what it means in terms of practical aspects...
Hope it helps!
Cheers,
Sweden

Good luck - it is coming up very soon indeed - the last few days of waiting are the hardest, but I'm sure you will be fine!girzim said:Hi Sweden!
Thanks so much for your help. We've already applied. We applied on April 26th so hopefully we should hear sooooooon! We're gonna start collecting some stuff in case we're called for an interview later in the year to prove intent. Thanks so much for your advice. It's really nice of you.
congrats!!!!!!! ;Dneemann said:Just got AOR in email. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the hopes and being positive )Sweden said:Hey AXH,
sorry to hear that your family has to be apart, it is hard for sure. But it will pay off in the end - because your approval will be very easy probably, as your husband is already there, and looking for a job, and preparing for a place to stay for your family when you finally get approved... with a child I can imagine it is even more important to be "well prepared" - and it looks like the approval time for the first stage is going down - not on the website, but more so when looking at the spreadsheets, so hopefully you will not have to wait 3 months to get the approval ( as most of April applicants are), but less... and if you have a strong case ( child, no red flag) hopefully your second stage will be fast too....
Good luck - waiting is hard for sure.
