Hey.. Sorry for the late response.. I am just getting access to my laptop. Anyways, the good news is, I received my PPT Request letter on 6-July-2011 via regular mail (it was issued on 28-June-2011). So I couriered my passport the next day on 7-July and it reached them on 8-July. Hope this information helps. Good Luck!

Does Delhi write email to the sponsor also when they make a passport request or is it just a regular mail sent to the permanent residency applicant's address?

No, the sponsor doesn't get anything. Only the applicant receives PPT request letter either my regular mail or email in some cases.

They sent to the mailing address provided in the forms.
Mine was mailed to my Lawyer in Canada instead of Indian address.
If you hire a lawyer then he should receive it.
I hope this helps.
I am sure PPR is on its way already.
All the best

Yea..Thats rite! I too got my Passport Request through my Lawyer on 8th July. The PPR Letter was dated 15th June 2011 and was delayed due to the Postal Strike.

Hi,

I got an update here:

today, finally, I got my passport back....
visadate in the passport is the 30th of june and apparently took 2 weeks to reach my house.
it also took 2 weeks to get to the visa office through regular (signed) mail, when I send it there....
me and my beloved passport were separated for almost 4 weeks. :o
in the end the 'passport-request-period' was the most nerve-wrecking of the whole process.
i am very happy i got my passport back with the visa in it.
now prepare for landing in early october....and finally be together with my wife every single day. :-* :P :D
8) I can't wait.....!!!
Good luck to all of you still in the process.
Hopefully you will all be as lucky as my wife and I are.
Total processing time less than 3,5 months is much better than we previously expected.
Thank you Canada!

Congrats! Wish you a very happy married life!!!

atethepaint, what kind of "information" was requested on May 26? was it something that should have been included in the first submission?

It looks like it didnt take them that long to reach a decision after the information was requested....
