Nah, tagalog's just a joke that we farang haven't seen through, yet.

But seriously. A multilingual doctor from Iraq told me this joke:

"You call a man who speaks three languages trilingual. The man who speaks two languages is said to be bilingual. And the man who speaks but one language is English."

Sadly true in my case. I should crack open "minnasan no nihongo" again.

Hi fellow April peeps,
After having my common law spouse (sponsor) check his email several times a day over the last few days and not seeing an email from CIC, I got him to call the call centre. He was told that he was approved as a sponsor and that the file was forwarded to Buffalo on May 24. They also told him that he should be getting an approval letter in the mail in about 10 days or so.
Uccemebug can you update me on the spreadsheet please :D

Congrats! You're in the spreadsheet. You beat my estimate by two days, BTW.

Thanks Uccemebug! I am also hoping to beat the processing time stated on the CIC website for Buffalo!!

Hello all, I'm new to this forum but I'm glad to find a place where we can share this process, my case is a bit longer since the wife is from Quebec, we filed back in 15-04-2011 and I received the email stating my wife was approved as a sponsor on 24-05-2011.

Now I guess I have to wait until my wife receives the actual letter in order to submit the paperwork to the Quebec government, can I just print that email and send it with our application for the QSC?

My file has been transfered to the Buffalo office, short story, we have been married for 1 year and a half, I live in New York and currently work in Brooklyn, I try to travel once a month to see her, we are hoping to have everything done by the end of the year.

I completed all the forms, it was a daunting task and I am hoping everything is completed correctly, so far everything is on track, good luck to everyone.

Congrats on getting through the first hurdle - I hear you on the daunting nature of the paperwork. I'd like to think that my country could do better. I don't understand why the provincial government of QC is meddling in a national process, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Best of luck to everyone doing the Quebec process!

And welcome aboard, I've added you to our growing spreadsheet of spousal applicants.
