Sorry to hear about the set-back, Dragoon. By waiting for two years for the interview do you mean that they've set an interview date for 2013!

uccemebug: the problem with interview is you don't know the day. They will contact you (to setup a date) within 24 months. I know some one got interview date in 12 months, others in 18 months. That is really ridiculous. I am not sure we, as a Canadian can do something about it.

I though that those shenanigans were reserved for the inland process. Very sorry to hear that we're this bad at this. As to fixing it, I'm not sure that there's any appetite for immigration issues with goverment. The Conservatives ran an anti-immigration platform this summer (and the Liberals did something similar the time before), I don't think we can expect anything different from their federal brethren - who currently set the tone for immigration policy.

my new sets of application. But some people says that ielts is now required..

My wife received the following email from the Canadian embassy in Moscow: "It appears your file is complete and we are now ready to issue your permanent resident visa"!

Needless to say that we're both ecstatic

She had to fill out a form asking for all the basic information about her and me and send it, along with the letter and her passport, to the embassy. She couldn't simply take it down because the embassy doesn't appear to accept walk-ins anymore. Instead she had to go to a courier (2 metro stops away from the embassy), and pay them to deliver it.

I'm sure she'll appreciate the change in weather. I took my wife from Tokyo to Toronto in January .. not quite the same effect.

It seems that other visa offices work very fast than mine. My visa office is Damascus and till April i am waiting for a reply. But no respond.
