as i checked the cic website today saying that working on 22march2011 application so how many days more will they take to send the decision on that n when will those guys receive them does any1 have idea..............? too much anxious................... ;)

The guidance on the CIC website says that the first portion takes 38 days, as noted above. After that, your application will be sent on to the outland visa office. You should receive some notification at that time.

One question I've got for everybody: Is that letter the "approval in principle" that we (in our case) can take to Service Canada for an SIN and to Service Ontario for an OHIP number?

dear uccemebug i know the information u gave me n cic web site is saying itis taking 44 days now not 38 days, my question arise in my mind bcoz if they r working on 22 march applications till yesterday n taking 44 days so its around 36 days n will it take them 8 days more to take decision on it..................!

44 days, now. Hmmph. The entire time I was working on my application (from January) it remained 38 whenever I happened to look.

But to your point (as I understand it) I wouldn't get too upset if you don't hear anything in eight days. Or on any other date in particular. Just because they're now working on applications received on March 22 doesn't mean they'll take a day to make a decision on you as a sponsor.

Approval in Principle is given to INLAND applicants, not outland. Outland applicants cannot apply for a SIN or OHIP until they have landed. Outland applicants get an AOR from the visa office, or Acknowledgment of Receipt, saying they have received the application, what the average processing time is, what your file number is and how to correspond with the office if they require any further documents from you.

That's very helpful. I started down the road of an inland application (until advised not to by this forum's denizens) and it seems I've carried a fair bit of inland information with me, mentally.

Thanks so much!

i think it take them a day to give decision once they have look on it bcoz i told by sm1 tht in morning around 9 she called cic n hey didnt have her application on system but at 3.30 pm same day she has email of approval so i also think it takes them couple of hours for most of cases.

I wanted to officially join the April club!
Our outland application was received in Mississauga this morning!
Very exciting....let the waiting begin!

Hi mala16!

Mine was received this morning too! Let see how it goes! ;D

dyj2010,
congratulations!!!
i look forward to hearing about everyone's progress!

Good luck to you both!

My wife and I are putting a second child on hold until she's got health coverage (this exercise reveals a weakness in forbidding private health coverage in this country) so I really hope this application goes smoothly. For us, as for everybody here. ;^)

Does anybody know how long it takes between the application being received in Mississauga and confirmation being issued by CPC (and a file number issued)?

I asked the same question this morning!! :)
This is the answer I received: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/application-delivered-by-fedex-how-long-before-cic-contacts-us-t70415.0.html

Thanks! Actually, I do remember reading that earlier. So I guess it's true: we have to wait for a month or more. Damn.
