That was easy! I've decoded "PPR" but what's "AOR"?

AOR is acknowledgement of receipt.
In london, they don't send out AOR letters, we just go by what we see on ecas.. "we received your application to sponsor XXX on April 15 eg" etc

PR app received on May 13th!

Do you mean your sponsorship was approved?

Sponsorship approved on May 7th, app was sent to Singapore and received on the 13th if I read it correctly.

No. The AOR is sent by the visa office to the applicant, not from CPC-M to the sponsor. The point of the AOR is to advise the applicant that his application is received at the visa office, advise the applicant of his file number from the VO, give an idea of how long the processing will take, advise the applicant if any additional documents are required from him and how to communicate with the VO.

Currently, some VOs do not send AOR, the applicant is advised that his application was received by the VO via an update from eCAS. This is not consistent, however, it depends on the VO.

k thx mate, yeh our vo isnt sending it frm long time so didnt know abt tht vo send smthing our vo send just ppr or if require add doc req or int. letter

Hey all.

I'm going to join the fun!

We received your application to sponsor *SEKRIT* on April 6, 2011.

We started processing your application on May 10, 2011.

We sent you a letter on May 10, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

I'm from Indonesia, so... Singapore is handling our application.

I've received an Email from them on May 10th, noting:

This letter confirms receipt of the processing fee. It is also an outline of the basic requirements of the undertaking that you have signed as a sponsor and your formal obligations under that agreement. Please retain this letter for your personal records. THIS IS THE ONLY COPY THAT WILL BE ISSUED TO YOU.

Please note that since the following item(s) was/were not included with your application package, your submission is considered incomplete at this time:

• Completed Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM 5540) must be signed and dated

So, I guess I didn't sign my IMM 5540. But I sent a signed & dated copy on May 18th!

So, does it mean my AOR is on the 5th of May 2011 as well?

Man, just when I think I've got something halfway sorted.... Thanks for your willingness to explain this stuff.

Uh… since the Email I received from CIC mentioned that the Email (or letter) is also a receipt, I presume that the Singapore Visa Office has received my application? However it's not "in process" yet. Correct?

Hey uccemebug, would you like a hand in keeping the list up-to-date? I think I've got your standards understood.

Oh, and btw, I think that list is missing the date my application was received by CPC-M, and whatnot.

Hi, I am new to this forum.
My wife filed my spousal based application on April 13 2011 and sponsorship was approved on May 13 2011 and file was transferred on the same day to CHC New Delhi.
I am looking forward to be part of this forum
