Hi All,

This is a thread for all FSW Applicants who have applied (or are planning to apply) to Sydney Nova Scotia in April 2010.

I have applied under FSW 2 and sent my application by Indian Speed Post on 03 April 2010. I am hoping that it will be received by CIC on 12 April 2010. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Let's connect and keep each other informed and motivated!

Any April 2010 applicants, please use this thread!!!!

Great Rubyat.

Please post the details of your visa office in your profile. Thank you.

Hi All,

Going to apply in 2-3 days under NOC 213.

But is it right time to apply as policy may get changed after 30 April.

Pls mention ur NOC also.

Best of luck all of u

My personal opinion - If you meet the current eligibility requirements, it is better to apply now so that your application can be received before 30 April (or whenever the new rules are slated to come) and get considered within the current requirements!

Hi,

I couried my application on 3rd april by DHL, should reach CIC by 7th/8th.

Hope u all are aware that from April 10th, all applicants applying would need to submit IELTS scores with the intial application itself.

Hi to all,

We start filling-up the application, and I think we can submit to CIO Sydney NS after April 10. I read a news about "Citizenship and Immigration Canada to streamline language proficiency assessment" on or April 10 the applicants will submit conclusive proof of their language ability, such as IELTS test results, with their complete application. My question is, do I have submit the original document (the original results) or just a photocopy of the result.

Thnx in advance!

Would that apply to people from English speaking countries as well?

@dal - I guess you are probably right about that. But I have actually submitted a photocopy of my IELTS score sheet along with the application. Didn't want to take any chances!

@trooper - Yes, IELTS is now mandatory - even if you are from English-speaking countries. If you don't give the IELTS score, it is at the discretion of the visa officer to award points for language based on the application and documents submitted.

hi. i sent my initial application on April 3 2010 to Nova Scotia through DHL but it has reached Halifax...
When April 2010 applicants shall be receiving acknowledgement or AOR....I applied without IELTS & to CHC Islamabad.

The OP6 manual has been updated.

The points are awarded for proficiency in English and French based on either:
a) language test results, submitted at time of application from an designated organization
or institution; OR
b) other evidence in writing, submitted at time of application, of the applicant’s proficiency
in one or both official languages.

Note: Evidence of enrolment in a test session at a future date, no matter how imminent, is not sufficient
evidence of language proficiency

Which means, we need to submit a copy of our IELTS score at the time of initial application to Nova Scotia!

AOR should come anytime within 45- 60 days of the application received at Nova Scotia.
Atleast that has been the trend with applications submitted in Jan/Feb this year.

This section of the manual is for the visa office to follow when asessing applications. The procedure for CIO to follow is section 7, according to this section they are not required to check IELTS for assessing an application. So still no one need to send IELTS results with initial application.
