Hi Everyone!

We received our AOR from CIO-NS last June 11, 2010. And unfortunately, I am still in the process of gathering our documents (since my husband, the principal, has this notion that we should start acting on our application once a reply has been made! grrr!) I have a few questions to ask and I hope some of you can answer them.

Here goes:

1. Should all the documents we shall submit original? How about diploma?
2. Can we just give the birth certificate and omit giving the baptismal?
3. How can I show that my husband (principal) has an aunt and uncle in Canada? I am planning to attach a marriage or birth certificate of my father-in-law and my husband's aunt or uncles to show lineage. ButI am having a hard time gathering the official copy for both. Is there any way I can show lineage?
4. As to employment, can I just give a job certificate? I am not sure if all our employment contracts are intact.
5. With regard proof of funds, how many months of bank statements should I submit? We are planning to sell our car in order to fill up the cash required for our migration (in our case $20400 for 4 people). Can I just give an explanation and attach a copy of the deed of sale to explain the sudden influx of big cash? Do stocks have value? What about insurance termination value, can I include them to meet the cash required? We have a mortgage and several personal properties, how do I get their valuation (please help on this)?

Hi Amrit,

The chances of rejection is always there till the point you enter Canada.

Some people on this forum have got rejection letter even after their Medicals or having the pass mark of 67 points. Be positive and gather all your supporting documents and put them together in a way which will convince the VO officer that you deserve to be a part Canada.

is there any possibility that an application gets recalled? my sister sent an application last year and didnt get her first aor. she probably got an email (aor) but might have deleted it. she then got a mail stating that canada is closing her application because she failed to submit the requirements (she passed the initial assesment apparently). now she sent another application and is awaiting for the first aor. her noc is 4131, its no longer in the new list.

if her application is reached before 26th June then she has to fall in old NOC list. Hence, new list will not be any problem.

That was very unfortunate...extremely sorry for her. If her recent application was received on or before 26th June then she should be ok. Keep checking your spam box too for the receipt of the AOR.

Hi Chander,

I know this cat and mouse game with CIC is killing!!!! But unfortunately, there is no way to confirm your doubts. But if you see lookiewookie's ( I may have misspelled his name) post, he got his AOR on 28th Jun. Hope that is some consolation.
