as of april this year they were supposed to be on GCMS instead of CAIPS as per their Project deadlines.........these days all files are getting transferred from CAIPS to GCMS...few applicants have posted on this forum that they recieved this info from their visa offices when they sent emails to their visa office inquiring about decision made status.

EVERYTHING FINISHED FOR ME.........I hv got rejection frm CHC ND....but d reason is realy surprising me...they said ....they r nt satisfied wid my employment nd r nt satisfied wid my job duties. plz help me frndz coz i hv genuine job n experience. how can i convince thm? they hvnt even enquired abt anythng frm my employer ...on wat basis they hv rejected my file....m totally lost!

I have no idea about GCMS, but if it works the same way as caips then i would request that note first, and appeal the case, give afidavit that evrthng is genuine.

Another tuesday is gone and no update in ecas status. I think its useless now to look at ecas.. the true status of the application will be available only after GCMS is live and available to public to check the app. status.

Is there any deadline of launching GCMS all over the Visa Offices?
File name will be same or it will be changed and how they will inform all applicants?

2011-2016, states that there will be a labour shortage of qualified applicants for IT related jobs in Canada within the next few years. The report was released by the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC).

According to the report, over 106,000 IT related positions will become available between 2011 and 2016 in Canada; however there may not be enough people to fill those positions. The report has also indicated that the most shortages will occur for positions which require five or more years of experience.

In order to address the concerns regarding labour shortages, the report is suggesting five recommendations:
Post-secondary students should be encourages to take IT-related courses;
Foreign-education workers should be better integrated into Canada's IT workforce;
Making post-secondary education more cross-disciplinary; and
Making the IT industry more accessible for various skill levels and diverse employees.

Another important suggestion made by the report is to bring more foreign skilled workers to Canada. The IT industry will be looking for skilled workers with many different skills, rather than a specific technical expertise.

The Government of Canada has not indicated how these shortages will affect their immigration strategies. Canadavisa.com will report on any changes to the Canadian immigration programs once they have been announced.

The prediction is for the next five years. I believe that already more than 106,000 applications are in queue in IT (NOC 0213) Category with five years or more experience if we consider pre 26/06/2011 applicants in all Visa Offices.

Yes.... But the overall predection accoss the world is 16 - 18% growth.

In my opinion, it will also depend on the type of skills that are required.. The NOC 0213 was for managerial work in IT.. and the required skills could very well be different from these e.g. software developer, multimedia technician etc.
