Nice to see you everybody taking questions and responding 'em very helpfully.i also want to ask that as we need $10000 and additional $2000 for each family memeber if am correct.i wanna know how much your funds should be old in your bank. is it necessary that they should be six months old at the time of applying or fresh money transferred can be taken int o consideration.

Hi guys..

I am ready to submit my full docs to london VO. I have a question regarding proof of relationship in canada.

My brother has just recently become a Permanent Canadian Resident. Although landed in Canada and came back to Pakistan as he intends to live in canada after an year. I have his landing card and his canadian visa with me. He is still waiting for his PR card to arrive.

Would I still be able to claim his points as he is not currently living in canada?
Would I have to give his birth certificate also? or will sending only his landing card and visa work?

Hi bachhal,

Check the link below to get an idea of funds required.

1. The older the account is the better for you as you can then show that your payslips are being deposited to that account. If VO would request then you can provide old statement as well.
2. You have to check your visa office to check how many months' statement you require to produce. Generally it varies from 3-6 months.
3. If there is a sudden deposit of money then you have to produce documents to prove that the money deposited is yours. You can not borrow money from anyone.
4. You need to keep the minimun required money (depends on the # of people in your application) till your visa is stamped. You can add money to your account but be aware of # 3.

Hi tfm,

Is your brother not supposed to get his PR card at an address in Canada? Or do you have a friend to receive the card on his behalf and mail it to you?
Unfortunately, for you to claim points for family... your brother has to be physically present in Canada.

Hi alizia,

1. You may submit as many as possible. Couple of Pictures with both of you and many other people in the group should be ok. With ceremony taking place etc.
2. Standard size should be ok.
3. I dont have a clear answer for this one. Maybe they want the details of all travels that you might have taken in the past.
