Hi All

I had sent my application to CIO on 18th april and my CC was charged on 8th July.
Do i need to IELTS now or my IELTS requirement is got waived.
what should i understand. Do i need to give IELTS.
How long it will take for 1st AOR after CC got charged.

can somebody reply on this matter.

Hi Spate,

As your application was received on 18th April, you are under the 10April rule which basically mentions that VO will not give you another chance to prove your English proficiency. He will assess your application based on whatever documents you have provided.

This is a dangereous situation because VO can make a judgement that he was not satisfied with the docs that you send him...and that is the demise of your application.

So, to be on the safe side,write the IELTS exam as soon as you can. Get the scores in your hand so that you know exactly how many points you can claim for English and or French. Book the IELTS as the seats are getting booked very fast.

AOR after cc is about 20-30 days. Check the updated list of April applicants to get a clear pic for yourself. Check pg 160 for the latest update.

PS: It does not mean that your IELTS is waived if your Credit card is charged.

One doubt.. I stayed in USA for 3 years in 3 different states... Do i need one PCC from FBI only or state PCC is also must?

Now i am in UAE.

Hi Parry,

The FBI was required , but I dont see it in the new rules...or maybe I am missing it. According to old rules, VO will ask for specific State PCC later.
But I feel one should go ahead and request for State PCC as well, but keep in mind PCC are valid only for 3 months. So you will have to judge at what time point you want your PCC.

Hi all!

RE: PROOF OF FUNDS

Some say in forums that joint accounts with a person other than your accompanying spouse will NOT be considered by the VISA Officer as part of your POF? Isn't it that it should at least be considered 50% yours in case you are two account holders?

Please help me on this and thanks in advance.

That is a controversial statement and X% belongs to you is also not proven. And this has no reference in the CIC guidelines.
How is the VO going to be satisfied that 50% belongs to you.....why not 99% or 5%. There is no proof to justify the 50% statement.

But on the other hand if the applicant and the spouse/cLP have joint accounts, then that is aptly justified and VO does not have to "WRECK" his brains to make the calculations.

In our country, when a bank closes, insured deposits (in cases of joint accounts) are divided and paid equally among the legal account holders and this may be the reason for the 50%.

My brain is stimulated too...

I did not mean to open a new account and deposit "the newly found treasure" in the new account.

I meant to deposit that amount in the account that you already have (old account). And attach all the docs along with your application to prove from where this treasure has been acquired. So that the VO does not become a sniffer dog (no disrespect intended)to find a point to disqualify your application. Dont give him any chance buddy.

i got confused here. i just read one of your reply to someone. i sent my application on 23rd april. but as far as i knew i wasnt supposed to send my ielt result with the doc to cio cos they specifically mentioned that. but i did give my IELTS test later and i got a band of 7.5 which is the maximum score by far. now here u are saying that we shouldve sent the result to the CIO wat the hell is this. why so much confusion??? they had specifically mentioned on the forms stating please do not send your results to CIO... man this is crazy... one more thing...i had first sent my application on 3rd march but it was returned later cos one of my silly mistakes. then i resent the application whci hthey received on 23rd april... please clarify what do i do with my IELTS result now...

please help my sis applied in noc 4131 havnt recieved AOR will complete 3 years in job on 1st september 2010,if she send her full doucuments after 1rst sept can she get 19 ponits for experience???one another query how old should be an acount to show to VO she doesnt hav enough money in her current acoount but if she deposit money tommorow would it it be considered good time period??or if any family member help her for money then that person hav to give any affidavit that its a gift for her??? pls reply seniors and other members thanks a lot

Hi Sidra,

You are fine. Dont worry.

Before 10th of April, the option available to the applicants were:

1. Have the IELTS score in hand
2. Send a detailed letter to VO to convince him that you are "Proficient in English"

Applicants sending applications After 10th April:

1. VO will not give you a chance to prove your English proficiency (ie by requesting you to take a IELTS test) in case you send your application without IELTS score. He will basically make his judgement based on what supporting docs you have sent him in addition to the Letter of English proficiency.

Now, you were NOT supposed to send IELTS result to CIO. To take the IELTS test was only meant for you so that you can get a better picture regarding how much points you could get for Language and not be surprised if VO decided to mark you less than what you had wanted incase you had just sent a "Proficiency in English" letter.

When you send your FULL docs to VO, attach your IELTS result.

You scared me for a moment as I thought I gave wrong info..
