Approved work permit but didn’t receive it

Hi,
So I’ve recently moved to Canada from the United States. I went through the rainbow bridge land border. I applied for a a work permit there. The officer took my paper work and I just sat in my car for hours until they decided to come out to get me to get my biometrics done. After doing that they told me to go back in my car. I waited again, after a few more hours they came back out and told me I was approved, but couldn’t hand me my work permit because their printer broke. They told me they would have to mail it to my lawyers office. They let me into Canada without any paperwork at all just a stamp on my passport. It has been 14 days now and I’m still waiting for my work permit to come in the mail. I’ve called the border and all they tell me is that they can’t answer any of my questions. So I’m just trying to seek for help; if anyone knows how I can get any info on my paperwork I would appreciate it I’ve been in Canada for almost two weeks and haven’t been able to start working until I have my work permit at hand.

This was literally two weeks ago, my English is kind of limited so I don’t know if the officer said anything about going back. I got biometrics done and everything at PoE and they did tell me I was approved. What do you think I should do?

I don't think we can help you if you can't tell us in detail exactly what the officer said at the border.

Have you asked your lawyer? What does your lawyer say?

in my cvase, im an inside applicant for home support worker program
i got approved for my work visa last feb 16 2022
i was waiting for the work permit to be mailed since thats what they said on their website and on the link they provided on the letter of approval
however, my lawyer made an inquiry and was waiting for 2 mos to get their response
and still waited for the work permit to be mailed but then on their reply
it indicated that it will be issued at the the port of entry which doesn't make sense since im already inside canada
so, my plan is, i will be going to the border tomorrow to have the work permit since i already have the work visa on my passport

Oh I’m sorry that that is happening to you, I understand the frustration. I’ve been thinking about going back to the port of entry but I just wasn’t sure I appreciate your input so much thank you and good luck!

You have two options. One option is to wait. The other option is to go to the border again.

I don't think any of us can tell you if going to the border will work or not.

Still nothing no signs of my work permit being mailed.
