Approved Online Visitor Visa: Passport Return Times

Have same status in VAC, but MyCIC account finally got updated with approval, counterfoil status and expiry date of PRTD.

Passport Request - Oct 20th
Asked for change of Visa Office from Ottawa to NY
New Passport Request - Oct 26th
Passport Submitted at VAC by hand - Nov 2nd (received tracking number immediately with the submission receipt)
Nov 3rd - Passport Received by the Visa Office - Under Consideration
Nov 10th - MyCIC account updated with approval.

Hello, MyCIC account also got updated with the approval on Nov 10th, the counterfoil status and expiry date of PRTD, does thsi mean that the only process that is missing is the consulate to send the passport to the VAC and the VAC to send it to us? Thanks in advance for the input!

I applied online for my parents TRV 2 weeks ago. i got refusal. following is details:

1) i am on PR
2) i uploaded all documents for my parents and paid fee
3) no one is there is Pakistan except parents
3)all siblings are in canada.

they refused and gave following reasons.

1) Tie to Pakistan, means if they come to canada then hey will not go back to Pakistan
2) not enough funds ( i know funds were good enough)
3) proposed stay. ( i mentioned 5 months)

now please let me know what should i do

1) should i wait and reapply in Jan 2018 because of new qouta for 2018?
2) should i reapply quickly?
3) what extra documents i can submit to make them sure that they will go back to their back home country before proposed time.

As a sponsor I have submitted bank balance with $12000, letter of employment, 2016 notice of assessment, letter and recommendation letter from MP

Applicant documents-

Letter of employment saying that working for 2 years as supervisor with salary of QAR7000 per month,

Bank statement with $8000, property asse

I'm an international student in canada and have applied for a new trv since my old one expired but I'm bound to travel on the 30th of NOV back home to Pakistan so I was wondering if I could get my visa office changed to Pakistan! I will greatly appreciate your help!

Yes. Based on what I have seen in this forum, it is usually sent in a couple of days.

I have been following this forum and have found it very useful so thought I would share my own experience:

Request for Passport Received: November 3, 2017
USPS confirmed package delivered to NY VAC: November 8, 2017
Application Received by the VAC and then In Transit to Visa Office: November 9, 2017
Current Status: Passport Received by the Visa Office - Under Consideration

Yes. Based on what I have seen in this forum, it is usually sent in a couple of days.

I think you are absolutely right, I just checked my status and it says Application Processing Completed - In Transit to the VAC
I think now is just waiting for the passport to be received by the VAC and in turn the VAC should send it to us.

Hi Guys,

I think I'm in a really tight spot. Would really appreciate if anyone can chip in with some advice.
I am traveling to Mumbai, India from Boston, USA on the 17th of November and have a transit via Montreal. Here is my timeline.

25 Oct 2017 - Passport Request
2 Nov 2017 - UPS confirmed package delivered to NY VAC
2 Nov 2017 - Missing document because I had not paid the VAC fees
3 Nov 2017 - Sent the money order via mail to the Boston lockbox.
6 Nov 2017 - The VAC received the money order.
7 Nov 2017 - Got the receipt from the visa application center.
9 Nov 2017 - Passport Received by the Visa Office - Under Consideration
13 Nov 2017 - No update.

I got in touch with VAC via phone and the guy was of no help. I asked him if I can get my passport back and he said I'll have to drop an email to the VAC to request a cancellation -- then the VAC will respond back in 24 - 48 hours with a cancelation form -- get the a cancellation form -- fill it -- submit it -- then the VAC will submit that cancelation form to the embassy -- then the embassy will return the passport to the VAC and the VAC will then ship it to me using the return label which I send. He said it will take 5 business days for this procedure. This level of bureaucracy was quite surprising.

Any slim chance of me getting my passport with the transit visa before the 17th, if not, any way I can get my passport back ASAP.

Any suggestions? Would really appreciate it. I am getting engaged so I HAVE to travel.

On hindsight, I booked this ticket thinking I'll save $150 in ticket fares lol. This might turn out to be the most expensive cheap flight deal I ever booked, provided I get my passport back on time.

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 - Submitted an Online Application (in the evening)
Mon, 30 Oct 2017 - Got the Passport Request
Thu, 9 Nov 2017 - Sent the Passport by priority regiestered mail via Deutsche Post to Vienna Visa Office
Mon, 13 Nov 2017 - Received by Vienna Visa Office

In the email, they said that they will send the passport back by registered mail (Austrian Post?) at no cost. Will I get any response or update from my online account when they send my passport back? It already shows that my application was approved.

Yes, we provided a prepaid USPS priority mail express envelope. It was activated last night, should be received by Thursday.
