I applied online for transit visa on Mar 22 and still waiting for passport request.
Status is "Open" .
I'm so worry because I don't want to cancel my trip.

TUESDAY MAY 5, 2015 - ONLINE Application sent & confirmation of submission
WEDNESDAY MAY 6 - 8 2015 - 4 update notification emails of update on myCIC - no update (or the status was changed to "open" can't remember)
(I know this is normal) processing time was estimated 38 days (out of Canada- Costa Rica/Guatemala)
MAY 15, 2015- Original Passport request

We're going to send the passport out on MONDAY MAY 18
we've been through this before and they said that it takes one week so if we send it monday we will get monday of the following week.

Anyone applied for a Visitor Visa online through Mumbai?

Applied: May 4th
Passport Request: May 19th

I have a US Visa appointment on June 4th, so am not sure if my passport would be sent back by then? Any idea whats the average time for the passport to return to VAC(VFSGlobal)

Also, will the passport be sent to Bangalore/Delhi or would it be stamped in Mumbai itself? Pardon my ignorance in this!

Hi Amar,

You'll get your passport back in about a week after submitting it at VFS Mumbai.... it will be sent to the Bangalore Consulate for visa stamping

May 21st- Passport received.. & Status changed to closed/ approved
May 22 Passport being sent back to Costa Rica.

How to fillup IMM5713

Dear all,

I need help to fill up online application for my father & mother,

I can see there is a document for Use of a Family Member Representative for Online Applications (IMM5713) How I will fill up this?
Do my parents need to sign & scan this?
When I click the help button they mention like " A Use of Family Representative form must be filled out and signed by you and your family member. By signing this form your family member authorizes you to represent them and submit their application on their behalf."

Would anyone kindly tell how I can submit this IMM5713?

Basically yes, but they can still refuse it, IF you do not send in your passport within 30 days of the passport request so that they can stamp it to complete the process

My Timeline:


May 1, 2015: Applied online
May 21, 2015: Passport Request
(sent the same day via USPS overnight shipping)
May 22, 2015- received by LA VAC
May 26, 2015- Application closed and sent back to LA VAC
May 27, 2015- Dispersed from the LA VAC -Overnight shipping (the envelope I included when I sent my passport)
May 28, 2015- Received
