Is it fully non-refundable? Usually, even non-refund tickets have an option of date change for an additional fee of course. Try to contact airline maybe?
Did you check which status your online application has? When CIC already stamped passport with visa, the status changes from "open" to "closed/application approved". At least it could give you some info. I saw my online status changed and only 24 hrs later I received notification update about it that change on email.

Yes, it is fully non-refundable cause I purchased it from a third-party website, not from an airline company. I could change the date for an extra fee, but the problem is - I still don't know when I will have my passport on hands and be able to fly. Now I am totally convinced that it is way better to pay 200$ more and get a refundable ticket than to deal with cheap non-refundable crap that I have now.
I also check the status of the application every night and now it is still just "submitted".

hey guys i got my status changed to close can i get any info on when i can get my passport after that because i am worried since i have to fly on dec 13.. any suggestion would be highly appreciated thank you

Did you send them a return pre-paid envelope along with your passport?

yes i did enclose my passport along with the empty courier and even got email notification stating that they have received my passport on Dec 8th though my tracking said it was delivered on Dec 02 ,so it might be the passport sitting on shelves for a week before they issued the visa and that my application is my finalized and approved .When i checked the canada post i see no tracking info so that's the reason i little worried....so anyone would be able to tell how long more i should be hoping to wait to get it...thank you

Can't tell you anything about regular post or private courier companies, though.

Applied for TRV renewal online on 1 Oct 2014. On 27th October, I got an email that I should check my cic account. I saw a passport request letter. On 29 October 2014, I sent my passport with Canada express post. I also included the return envelop. My mail was received my cic, Ottawa on December 1, 2014. But up till, I have not heard anything from CIC. The problem now is that my address will change at the end of this month. I don't know what to do. Because of this delay, I cancelled my trip outside Canada. Please is there any person in this forum who submitted passport in December that has got it back, please?

You mean delivered to CIC on November 1 (as you sent in Oct). This means more than a month?

I'm more worried now. I sent passport on 15 Nov & not received it back yet :-(. Now soon everyone will be in holiday mode. I will need passport back by 23 Dec. Any other recent example to show how much time it is taking these days?

Passport Received: November 21st 2014 (Fedex Express- Signed: J.Pillon)
Sending from: Vancouver, British Columbia.
Sent to VAC: CIC Ottawa
Application Status Updated: Approved on December 3rd 2014. Application Close.
Passport Arrived on:??

I would like to know if anyone here can help me out on when can I expect my passport to be returned. The enclosed package is also Fedex Express.
Fedex Tracking not yet activated. I had to cancel my travel plans because I have not received the passport yet. Originally scheduled to leave on: December 10th 2014.

Is there a possibility of getting my passport before January 15th 2015? I am really worried here. Please advice. Thank you!

hopefully you can check the status of you application if you have the GIC login information ... get onto the CIC website or try mycic in google will direct you the page and you can log into and check your status but they are a bit lazy in updating the status so hopefully you get a early feedback and have a good holidays guys

i dont think you have to be worried buddy depends on when you got your approval and it only get activated if your passport has been dispatched from ottawa...... i was in the same shoe few days ago but i got my approval on 10 and it got dispatched on 11th at 5:00pm so may be just give a time or try contact the help deck or emailing them should get back to you in a day or two

Thank you for your reply. The approval was made on the December 3rd. The current status of the application is closed and approved. Since December 3rd- I have not heard anything from CIC or Fedex. I have emailed CIC but no response. Now its the weekend. What do you think?

So I am hoping I get some news this coming week.
