Hello

I submitted online application on 16th May and I received message on MYCic account on June 6th requesting some document again to Upload. I uploaded those documents but after Submission I do not see any confirmation message from them. Is anyone has same situation? Their CIC site says after additional document submission you will get confirmation message but I did not receive.

I am in USA and from India.

Thank You.

Hi tpurani

I also submitted my online application for visitor visa online on 16th May but not received any request yet.
I will update here if will get anything

hello i have a question. many of you are saying that you had to send your passports to either the new york or LA consulates. i hope this means that you all are either americans or internationals living in the us. this wouldn't apply to persons who applied online from different countries correct?

hi-
I sent in my online app on April 29th- I got an email form CIC on may 30th asking for my passport. I sent my PASSPORT TO NY CONSULATE. THEY RECEIVED IT ON JUNE 3rd. I have a trip planned on JULY 1st.

WHATS THE APPROX PROCESSING TIME? I HOPE TO GET IT BY END OF THIS MONTH?

Yes you are right. Most of the post here are from people staying in US. People who are applying from other countries, will need to send their passport to their respective country.

In application form IMM5257E, row 7 is for current country for residence and row 9 is for country where applying. You need to send passport to consulate in the country (row 9 if it is filled) otherwise what you selected in row 7 i.e your current country of residence.

It does not matter whose citizen you are. I am from India but currently staying in US. I applied it in US so sent my passport to US consulate in Los Angeles.

Thought I'd add my experience to the forum, since it was very helpful to read other's experiences. I applied for a multiple entry visitor visa and was hoping to attend a friend's wedding at the end of May. I am an Indian with EAD-AP card and H1B stamp.

Timeline:
Applied online - 08 Apr 2013
Passport request - 09 May 2013
Passport mailed - 10 May 2013
Passport received - 07 Jun 2013

It was frustrating to not have any communication on the status of the passport once I submitted it. I sent an email to them on May 20th on the status to which they responded on June 4th stating that they will send the passport soon.

I missed the wedding, but it could be partly because I had requested a 10-year visitor visa. My earlier visas were 6 months on the first one and 1.5 years on the next. I live so close to Toronto that I didn't want to keep reapplying. They granted me a 9-year visa, which was a pleasant surprise.
