I need Help - I am confused to what type of spousal application would I take ??
Here is the background ;
I was married and the only separation document we have is the Notary that I was separated .
I am a Canadian Citizen now.
Scenario :
1. I was sponsored in a common law here in Canada back 2012
2. We separated last 2016
3 . I would like to sponsor my ex-wife ?
4. my current status is "Single" for 2 consecutive years now .

My question ;
1. Can I sponsor my ex-wife again ? what type of application is applicable ?
2. We haven't live together in one roof, however , we were together every time I have a vacation back home ( South East Asia )
3. Can Conjugal be applicable instead ? or common law ?

Thank You ,

Where are you from? When did you and your ex actually separate? Did you divorce? When did you get back together?

Sponsoring an ex spouse is typically quite complicated since it can raise concerns there was a relationship of convenience on your part to get to Canada. My strong recommendation would be to consult with a good immigration lawyer before you move ahead with anything.

Thank you for your replies.
Me and my ex-wife back together on Nov 2016 .. we just maintain our relationship through emails/ calls and vacation on a yearly basis (once a year ) , I include her on my insurance ,,and I regularly send money for support ,,
Background:
We got a children which luckily , i have sponsored them and they are here now with me in Canada.

I understand that this is going to be difficult , but my kids really miss my ex wife and I need to sponsor her as well.
Getting a lawyer is expensive for me ,, for the reason I need this forum for at least to start my self filling sponsorship forms .

Hope someone would lead me getting this through,

Thanks much !

It's confusing.
Is she your wife again? After your tried to seperate but failed and got back together?
You said
2. We separated last 2016

But you also said that you got back together in Nov 2016.

And you were sponsored as common law in 2012, were you married to your "ex-wife" in 2012 and common law with another person who sponsored you?

Yes, Separated with my common law on July 2016 -- and start relationship with my ex wife on Nov 1016 .

So did you ever divoiced your ex-wife?
Anyway, your status is not "single" since you were married. It should be divoiced or seperated.

Hi YVR123 ...Thanks for your response.

So did you ever divoiced your ex-wife? - NO ( only on a notarized paper that we are separated .. ) ( No divorce )

My current status is "SINGLE" - ( since i was separated to my common-law last 2016 ) --
Should I be changing my status to " divorce or Separated ? on my Tax declaration and on my application ?

You are not single, so you cannot have the status of single if you are not single! You should change your status to separated. You are not single, you are not divorced.
