Applying to sponsor a spouse when sponsor lives outside canada

Good day all,
I am a Canadian citizen currently living and working outside Canada.
From what I understood, I can sponsor my husband while still outside canada.
What kind of proof will CIC accept in terms of us going back to Canada by the time he gets PR?
Will showing my contract and my current visa in the country of current residence with an end date work?

Also, my husband has residence visa in the country I am currently in but he is a citizen of another country. Which country should his PR application go to?

Normally sponsor who live outside Canada would summit a letter from family /friends that help them to settle down in Canada
and proof of any asset in Canada.

but it definitely does not satisfy visa officer, so you would be required more supporting doc regarding to that matter.


You can start to look for a job in Canada and by the time VO request more doc, you can summit a job offer or proof of your job search.

CIC make that decision. After sponsor approval they forward it onto the visa office, you can request which one to send it to BUT they may not follow your request.

As of November 2014 there is no longer the box which asks for the visa office you want your application processed.

Yeah true but some people on here have requested the VO for the country that the applicant is living and CIC have sent it there.

Thanks all.
I think in our case, I will have difficulties proving that I will go back to Canada after PR is approved.
I ceased all substantial ties to not pay Canadian taxes.
But I will start looking for a job, yes.
And I will only apply after I have a job offer.
