Applying to immigrate to Canada

I am looking to apply to immigrate to Canada but my options look very bleak. My boyfriend currently lives in Canada and is a citizen there. We met overseas and now I am wanting to move to Canada to be with him. I am a South African. I have a 4 year bachelors degree and work experience. I am a young female, 25 years old. I do not have any assets, debts etc.. What are my chances of getting in? Is it advisable to rather try to get a temporary work visa and then once I am there try and apply for permanent residence? ANY and ALL help would be greatly appreciated!!

Is your relationship with your boyfriend serious? Are you planning to marry soon? If so, get married and have him sponsor you as his spouse.
