Hey guys, anyone applied study visa from singapore recently? Would you please share you timeline?

My wife applied her study visa and she sent in her medicals on the 19th of June. It has been a total of 50 days since the embassy got her application. Is there anyway to track or inquire about her visa's progress?

Thanks
Kevin

hello,

Yes, i sent my application by mail . Reached spore on 17th june evening. So far i could only track my mail by poslaju. I sent a few emails but i am only getting auto response.
now looks like i may have to wait for several months , I already getting stressed bcos i can't concentrate on my work and keep thinking about my visa . Why is Canadian embassy taking so long.... ?

as far as I know if check out the canadian-spore embassy website. It says standard processing time is 45 calendar days. Good luck btw. If they ask for medicals , that means ur visa is on the way. let us know on forum once u get ur visa.

It took my wife around 2~3weeks to get her medicals. Yours will come soon bud :)

I really wish the embassy would at least reply our email even if it is as brief as possible. This waiting and uncertainty is enough to wreck a hole in us :(

The embassy will only reply to visa status questions if your application took longer than the average handling time. I myself did emails and calls. When I finally had someone from the embassy on the phone, the lady told me that visa officers do not take calls and will only reply to emails once the average handling time has lapsed. I applied in Manila, average handling time is 13 weeks, on my 12th week right now, nothing seems to progress. I'll just wait until next week so I can call them again and have definite answers....

People in Bd are getting visa even in 60-65 days from Singapore CHC. So no need to worry you will get it sooner or later.

Are you sure it's 45 days? CIC website says 8 weeks... Just 1 more week and you'll get it. Good things come to people who patiently wait... :)

Thanks for all the useful info Dipta! :)

I got a question, once you visa is approved do they email you first or they would just send your passport back to you? I got my visa last time when the malaysian embassy was still operating. So I do not know about the singapore's CHC method.

Thanks for your comments, but i just got a letter from embassy rejecting my student visa.
Quoting family ties , financial status and purpose of visit.
But I had provided at least one year proof of funds, including a letter from EPF that i am eligible to withdraw all of my bal in Acct 2.
I even paid tuition deposit to Lethbridge College.
I had also submitted a photocopy of CAD8000 FCA from maybank. now i wonder what exactly the officer looked at, and how to prove family ties. I am devastated.

Hi guys,

I would like to know if i would like to go back to school in Canada after 7 years leaving the USA. Age 35 . Can any officer decline my application for this reason ? no age discrimination in Canada rite? I have seen people commenting gaps in education, but why would anyone punish people wanting to further their education. Doesn't make any sense.

If i dont get my visa again after 2nd try at canadian embassy, can i be rejected if i wanna go back to my same school in USA for double major by U.S embassy.
