Guys,
  • Got PR last year in December'2016
  • Landed in Canada for 20 days and came back to India in Jan'2017
  • Applied PRTD in Feb'2017 and was granted the same for single entry in 6 months. However, couldn't visit due to accident.
  • PRTD got expired in August'2017
  • Now, applying PRTD again (2nd time) since couldn't make use of earlier PRTD due to accident. I have submitted Medical report (XRAY) along with my application of PRTD.

My question is, what are the chances of PRTD getting rejected since I couldn't make use of earlier PRTD?
advises please.

Next to nil, you are 99.99% likely to get PRTD issued!

:-) Thanks
I hope your answer was based on prior experience or better understanding of system

Just to make a quick correction, your chances are not 99.99%. They are 100%.

You are a permanent resident, so you enter Canada by right. Just hang tight, there is no way your PRTD can be denied.

Since I did not make use of PRTD granted earlier due to accident, I was apprehensive of my second application.
I have submitted it and waiting for it to be granted.

Please suggest if you got your PRTD 2nd time.
If Yes, how much time it took.

Also any challenge you face or any further queries Canadian Ambessy asked.
I am in the same boat... your siggestion would be a help

Regards,
Prerna

I got PRTD 2nd time too withing 15 days with no issued faced. All the best

You only applied for your first PRTD yesterday. You’re going to make yourself old way before your time if you keep stressing about things that haven’t even happened yet. Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean......

Thanks brother ..i guess i am over thinking.. Actually i mentioned in the cover letter, that i am going to resign....... But now I thought i should wait and get married and then decide..

From my understanding a PRTD is usually good for a year. You’ll have lots of time to decide when and if to use it. Relax and get on with important things.

Actually i mentioned in the cover letter that i am planning to move to Canada by October this year.. So i am just apprehensive that they might not issue me PRTD For 2 months only till October

In your case, you have landed less than 3 years ago. So unless you got under investigation that you got your PR by Fraud (which you would know by now), there is no problem to get your PRTD. (since you still can meet RO).
So you should have no problems to obtain it.

So there is no problem in obtaining prtd second time.

But why would they put it under investigation that someone got pr by fraud, just because he/she missed prtd deadline because it was too short..
