my partner and I are getting ready to apply. We were planning on doing an inland application because I would like to start working as soon as possible (I am in Canada on a working holiday visa and have already applied to extend my stay as a visitor). With CIC working on reducing backlog, we are now thinking it might be better to apply outland, since the inland process is still at 26 months, whereas the outland process is at 11 months (I would be applying through the Vienna office). Looking at the outland spreadsheet, I have seen applications going through within as little as 5-6 months. That's almost the same amount of time it would take for me to get my OWP!
My application is pretty straight forward, no dependents, no criminal record, my partner and I have been together for two years, we've been living together for one. I am planning on doing my medical upfront.
I've been reading and collecting information about inland for the past year, outland still seems confusing to me.
Would I still have implied status once I've applied and my visitor extension runs out or would I have to keep reapplying for visitor extension until I get PR since my application is being processed outside Canada?
Where would I send my application? Vienna? Mississauga? Ottawa? CIC isn't very helpful.
Can anybody weigh in on what their experience was, especially people going through Vienna? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
