Both my spouse and I are PR with more than 1095 days being physically in Canada.

Now that online application for Citizenship is available for individual application, can my spouse and I apply separately? Or is paper application still recommended?

In our case what are the pros and cons of applying separately online?

Thank you.

yes you can apply online, separately.
The only cons I see is that you might not get citizenship at the same time.
Pros: No need to print anything, it's the way forward (digitization), no need to to mail anything. Relatively faster processing (it really depends)

Digital - 100% in favour of. I did paper back in 2019 and you have to wait for it to arrive, then get accepted, then digitized, etc etc. If you do it online, so many of these steps are skipped or aggregated.

This should be the case but for some reason online still seems to lag paper processing except for a brief period in 2021.

It's ridiculous that paper applications are getting processed faster. It doesn't make sense as Online applications have everything digitally in their systems.

I bet they have 10 agents, 8 of them are processing paper apps and 2 are processing Online.
